Noah's Ark; The human race would start over
There are reasons to think of the flood story, at least in the way the book of Genesis is written as myth, even if there was actually a disastrous occured in the past which could have been the basis for it, if there was.
About the "no child left behind", I don't know what you meant there, but a problem I see here is about God killing innocent children in the flood story, remember that it is mentioned that only 8 people survived in the story, all adults, no mention of any child surviving. The rest of humanity who were condemned for being "sinful" were killed, including their children and babies, which it is obvious there were, if only 8 people (adults) from the entire planet survived. (Even if you believe they had children and that was omitted, the rest died)

Adjective "innocent" would be in question. What about abortion? Those kids are innocent and no amount of rationalization is going to change that. "How could a loving God allow mothers to murder their children?"
Infantacide has existed since the dawn of humainty. After humans had been killing their infants for 200,000 years, why did god suddenly consider it wrong? (Especially since he commanded the Israelite army to kill unborn children in the old testament?)

Yes, late abortion is bad, (the Bible doesn't mention anything about abortion, does it?) nevertheless, talking about already born babies and children which they had to die as well for the sin of ther fathers? and the possible idea of none surviving? great reason for me to doubt the story and the view of God commiting genocide, including children.

It talks about causing a woman to miscarry somewhere in Deuteronomy I think. If it were accidental it would cost an amount of money, but any sin done on purpose required a higher penalty and could not be forgiven.
Concerning the Canaanites, yes that would seem wrong according to some of today's standards but where do those standards come from?

Yes, what gives anyone or anything the right to choose who lives or dies? You say that your god reigns supreme over every living thing, and thus has the right to do with us as he pleases, well I say BS to that; because for a start he would have to be one of the most hypocritical deities to have existed (presuming he exists at all), because on the one hand he wipes out several generations of mankind at the drop of a hat (the flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, Revelation) and says in the 10 commandments 'thou shalt not kill'. He or it can't have it both ways, and if this deity of yours think it can, then obviously something is definitely 'rotten in Denmark' as they say.

Aspie_Chav, what was the intent of this thread anyway?
Killing off all the trash people and starting over again.
Then we should have some sort of global UFC competition where the losers, and their children are put to death. Suuuuure... why not?

well, I'm not sure if you would agree with those punishments when it came to be accidental, did only women had to pay or also men?
That's the problem I see regarding the canaanites and the other stuff in the Old Testament, yes some of today's standars have their origin on christianity (i.e. ten commandments)

[quote="Averick"]Man, I am gonna puke if i see another thread tainted by Judeao-Christian garbage.
It doesn't always boil down to that, people. Mentioning your God does not rectify an argument.[/quote
NO. It doesn't.
Then again.
No. It doesn't.
The way I see it?
I don't know.
But the end times and all that jazz...........will be when it is to be.

Most of what happens in the old testament is a pattern for what will happen to Gods people at the time of the end, ie, the Hebrews being in slavery to Egypt and then due to Gods power being lead through the Red Sea and the wilderness into the promised land, is a pattern for us today who are in bondage to the globalists and bankers who run the world today, Gods people will be lead through Armegeddon into a Paradise Earth where "The Meek will inherit the Earth".
So the flood, what does that prefigure?
Heres 2nd Peter 3
"
5 For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice, that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. 7 But by the same word the heavens and the earth that are now are stored up for fire and are being reserved to the day of judgment and of destruction of the ungodly men. "
The world at the time of the flood was under the influence of the Nephalim, it was a violent evil world, God gave everybody a chance to get on the Ark to survive his destruction of an ungodly world.
Today the Earth is run by evil people and there is violence and ungodlyness, So we learn from the Flood that God will do something about it and now is the time for you to "Get on the Ark".
Heres more Biblical evidence from Chapter 2
"
5 and he did not hold back from punishing an ancient world, but kept Noah, a preacher of righteousness, safe with seven others when he brought a deluge upon a world of ungodly people; 6 and by reducing the cities Sod´om and Go·mor´rah to ashes he condemned them, setting a pattern for ungodly persons of things to come; 7 and he delivered righteous Lot, who was greatly distressed by the indulgence of the law-defying people in loose conduct— 8 for that righteous man by what he saw and heard while dwelling among them from day to day was tormenting his righteous soul by reason of their lawless deeds—"
See, it actually says, setting a pattern for ungodly persons of things to come.
And the reward for those who get on the modern ark of Baptism is 13 But there are new heavens and a new earth that we are awaiting according to his promise, and in these righteousness is to dwell.
As for the Biblical account of the Flood being not true, heres something for the open-minded to consider.
that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water.
6 And God went on to say: “Let an expanse come to be in between the waters and let a dividing occur between the waters and the waters.” 7 Then God proceeded to make the expanse and to make a division between the waters that should be beneath the expanse and the waters that should be above the expanse
Looking at these two scriptures, can you get the impression that the Bible is discribing not just the waters of the seas, but waters above the sky?
Something known as the Water Mantle, like a sphere of water with the Erth sitting protectively inside it?
What would be the result of such a sphere?
The suns rays would strike at the equator, but instead of the full heat from the sun continuing to the ground, it would be spread around and contained within the watre mantle, so you wouldnt get the extremes of temperature we get on earth today.
Now what has science found that could back up a water mantle?
How about the remains of tropical rainforest under the polar ice cap?
But this might have happened over thousands of years through temperature change or drifting continenets you might say?
Ok, how about the frozen fresh remains of Mamoths with grass still fresh in thier mouths being found in the frozen wastes of Siberia?
What could explain that, think about it, one minute you have fresh grass, ie it wasnt covered in snow, a mamouth is eating this grass then something kills him, not only does it kill him, but it instantly freezes him so that the flesh can still be eaten today.
Remember, one minute he was eating grass, the next he is frozen solid before he rots, something quick had to happen here.
How about "that there were heavens from of old and an earth standing compactly out of water and in the midst of water by the word of God; 6 and by those [means] the world of that time suffered destruction when it was deluged with water. "
The water for the flood came from the water mantle.
The instant the water mantle was not there, the greenhouse effect was lost and the extreme North quick froze along with the "vast herds of plains animals" that have been found quick frozen.
As for the ark no longer being there, The Roman historian Josepus reports that people would ascend Mount Araiat in order to cut parts off Noahs Ark to use as lucky Amulets.
