Also, isn't rabbinical kosher a type of biblical kosher?? I just read the year of living biblically, and the rabbinical tradition considers themselves to be the correct way of interpreting and implementing the Bible.
Kashrut levels are very different - and run the gamut in their levels of strictness. There are multiple regulating ordinances run by various Kashrut authorities who give their stamp of approval (or not) based on their inspections of the processing, cleanliness and other adherences. Very, very detailed and complicated. To eat something kosher, it's probably best that it be something with the O U or K symbols on it. Kosher meat and fish is another thing in entirety - certain foods are forbiidden - and in eating in restaurants - it's not enough that someone call's their establishment *kosher* - there needs to be an Orthodox supervisor there on the premises making sure that dishes (milk/meat) aren't mixed, cleanliness is observed etc. etc. etc.
There's some good info here -
