I believe god tries to help those who help themselves. I believe **somethings** out there, but I personally do not think it is a god of religion, so much as it is a god of conscience. I won't tell you that I know, because I can't tell you I know for sure and have anything to back it up, so I present it as an opinion but definately not a fact.
I believe we all have to make our own personal individual journies to god. It actually helped for me that I started off completely atheist though. I believe there are competing eternal forces around us, beyond our current comprehension, between good and evil, so god is not always able to stop evil. But I don't wanna sound too much like some tofu-eating New Age hippy here there. I won't attempt to give any details that I honestly don't know. What I do know is you can move universes by what you do and say and think and how conscious you have become within your own life, cutting through, as I say, all the illusions that are downloaded into you through your upbringing and your lifestyle and indoctrinations, so you can overcome a lot by using **little bits** of any religion in fact.

Nah, just makes you special and unique ;)

And think about how lonely that other person would have felt if they'd been the only one...

While I am an officially baptized member of the Luthern Church (as well as the webmaster for my hometown church, since everyone there is computer illiterate), I would not consider myself a true member. I am certainly Christian, but I typically prefer to make my own interpretations then just blindly accepting the interpretations of my pastor.

For example, since Jesus does not make a single mention of Homosexuality, I feel that it is not a religious or moral issue anymore. A view that would stun many members of my church (including the pastor). I also tend to ignore the Old Testament since I view that it's purpose was God teaching the people when they only understood fear. The New Testament exists because people could finally understand him through hope instead. Another view that would shock all but the most liberal Christians.

I grew up in a Catholic home, and use to go to church every Sunday, but something happened along the way, it just felt to hypocritical, and false, people can be to pious, or snobby with their religion, and look down on anyone who's different.
I am Metis which means that I am half native and white, and I do consider myself to be very spiritual, I don't believe in the so white mans version of God and I am into native beliefs that everything in the world is alive, and that everything has its own manitou or spirit.

I believe in a universal consciousness that everything everywhere makes up but not some being that is watching over us.
