They are only temporary. And the altered state of mind can be useful because you see things from a different point of view. Plus they can be fun.

Aspies already see things differently, so would pot make us...normal?

 No, I don't think so. I think it makes me more "autistic". But at least I know what it feels like to enjoy focusing on one sensory stimulus for twenty minutes. :o Really, listening to music or watching TV is the best thing to do with it, and the experience is very different from normal.

alcohol is actually good for you in small amounts. Like anything it is all in moderation, carrots are good for you, but if you eat to many you turn orange and get carrot poisoning.

My experience with eating pot was mainly in the form of hashish, When I was stationed in Spain several times we baked up brownies. The effect took longer to set in, but got pretty powerful. The high also lasted longer by far but this could be partly due to the amounts ingested, maybe 5 to 8 grams apiece. The hash was much cheaper there than in the US. Hope this answers your question Bollinger. I answered neither to the Poll question. I don't consider either to be inherently bad, but my own alcohol/drug use is not moderate or good for me at all.

People seem to be forgetting that chronic cannabis use causes 41% higher increase inthe chance of developing psychosis and can lead to schizophrenia in the genetically vunerable.

no one forgot that. chronic users (i.e. junkies/substance abusers) of any drug illegal or w/e can expect a bad experience no one has bothered stating that (before you) because its pretty damn obvious.

People who think pot is harmless need to really wake up. It left me with no ambition, made me depressed. Its really unhealty. I don't think any of us should smoke it, it will only make people more reclused, anxious and paranoid.

causative/ correlation fallacy.

Cannabis actually contains anti-psychotic drugs, which is an important consideration when looking at the relevant data. Its also interesting to note that, whilst cannabis use has greatly increased over recent years (at least in the UK) incidence of 'schitzophrenia' has not.

Hi, i have recently decided to stop smoking, but am determined to enjoy cannabis in one way or another.

Cannabinoids need to decarboxlate in order to become useful - Heat is a rapid way to achieve this, although there is obviously a risk of damaging potency or changing the qualitative effects if you dont get it quite right (ie. set the oven too high and vapourize all the chemicals) Apparenely if the weed is properly dried, or just rushed through a food dehydrator this will take care of that for you, avoiding the need to heat it up - but this is something im still reading about.

Eating takes a long time to work - this can make it very difficult to get the dose just right, unless your prepared to make a huge standardized batch. Alternatively, as cannabinoids are soluble into alcohols as well as fat you could look into making a tincture (very potent alcohol extraction) - if you get it right, youll be able to take it sublingually (under the tongue) and be feeling the effects in minutes. Im really looking forward to trying this method! :)

The way I used to eat it at times, was- Put some oil into a tablespoon, put it over teh cooker till li starts boiling. Then put a small lump on the spoon, it will boil up. The put that into a yougurt and eat it really quickly. I was wrecked for about 7 hours! It just wouldn't go away 8O But really, a better idea would be just to give it up altogether. There's more to life than drugs

Thank you for saying so. Just because something is obvious doesn't mean it's obvious to everybody.

Sorry you had a bad experience. Maybe YOU shouldn't have any more. But try to grasp the concept than others could be different.
