I'm tempted to say Hamas, but the reality is that both sides have broken past truces, unfortunately. 'Truces' are just the time periods between major offensives.

For instance, I think there's supposed to be a truce right now. The rockets shooting into Israel haven't stopped, and Israel just announced more settlements.

The problem dates back to the UN partition plan in 1947. I blame the UN for starting the mess, plus Israel for taking more land.

Well the land thing is a bit one sided. That is where all the hatred comes from.

I don't think think the Palestienians hate Israel because they are Jews. I'm sure if any other nation took them over and done the same thing they would hate them just as much.

History has shown that cease fires there have been broken by both sides, who then cite the actions of their adversaries as justification for what they are doing.

Neutral point of view...

I think it's important to realize that when two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong.

That depends on a lot of factors, like the age of those being taught, for one. Kindergartners are unlikely to appreciate nuance, while I'd be disappointed if a college course was taught in black-and-white.
