I don't really think he was responsible for 911, he did steal his way into the presidency by having his brother rig the ballots in Florida, he's been about the worst president in regards to foreign policy. I sort of thought the economy was doing great under Clinton

a lot of that was the dot-com bubble which popped towards the end of his term and put the economy into a downward motion and many of the policies that helped contribute to the housing bubble today were either from clinton or continued by clinton...i'm not sure which but either way, that (metaphorical) blood is on his hands too.

and again: back to the point! bush, we're not talking clinton here. clinton discussion from this point on is redirection unless discussing in the context of policies that bush continued from clinton's day or that bush discontinued that affected our current status.

in other words, no hiding behind clinton!! !

Ya I was hit bad by the dot com bust, I was just finishing my network admin course and the only job I could get was doing help desk support, the one thing that people say about Bush is that he would be a great guy to sit around with and a drink beer with.

except bush doesn't drink...not anymore, anyways. he strikes me as a person who'd annoy me because he's a user. he used drugs and alcohol before and later in life, he uses religion now. same over-abusive coping mechanism, different means of achieving it.

that and he's about as cultured as an empty petri dish. if i'm gonna schmooze with rich people, i'd rather be able to discuss the dynamics of hayden or prokofiev...not how he looked up a girl's skirt a couple times when he was a male cheerleader.

If the policy was to keep us better-off than Bangladesh, it worked! No food riots here!!

The value of our currency and international purchasing power have only dropped 40% - 50% under this president. That's pretty good. We still have the other half.

Probably bears little relevance to all you colonial types, but if its any consolation, Bush appears to think that dour, gloomy, unelected scottish economy-killer UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown is a twat.

He's right.

Thats a positive, yeah?

In all fairness, there really wasn't a good way to handle that situation. Bush could perhaps have handled it less poorly than the did, but no matter what he did we would still be able to criticize something that went wrong there.

I really can't think of anything beneficial that he did for the USA. --Then again I'm not a Military Industrial Complex 'War On Terror' profiteer, either.

Hey, Adolf Hitler gave us the Volkswagen as well, but that's not much redemption considering everything else he did. --GWB likewise.
