My point is NO you're not right all the time just because one takes a side favorable to your opinion doesn't make you right. Most of this is based on many of the posts that you've attacked with your personal opinions without data to support them. No I'm not saying all your posts but pretty much....... Consequently there is no right or wrong when a topic is based on opinion rather it is based upon fact and logic if it is something that should be deemed as a RIGHT opinion over another's.

Shame on you, you should know this by now!! ! :shameonyou:

Why would I admit I'm "wrong" when the discussions ask for an opinion?

I hold that opinions can be wrong. They can never be conclusively right, but some opinions I think are foolish enough to be legitimately considered wrong.

BTW, what is that text you added underneath? I'm a poor ignorant uncultured American, so I can't tell what you've written. It looks like Arabic.

Yes, opinions should never be put in place of truth, but I base my opinions on what is truth, or something near truth.

And you're correct about it being arabic. One way to make sure it's arabic script is to see if it looks like cursive as arabic is cursive. Just know that there are many languages that use Arabic script, it can be figured out though.

I have trouble separating the blame for what is being done from who is actually doing it. The troops are an all volunteer force. They can and should be held responsible for what they are doing. If they didnt want to be there doing excactly what they are doing then they wouldnt be there doing it.

That doesn't mean the troops wanted to be in Iraq.

Because maybe you aren't showing you understand how the system works here in the U.S.

And what is that way? That the troops are not in full control over where they are sent? Or that congress can vote to end the funding for the war?

If the troops were in a war that completely went against my will, why would I support them in their campaign? I'm arguing semantics as pointed out previously.

We pretty much carry similar beliefs in the end :)

I believe the troops want to be in Iraq
or anywhere they can collect combat pay.

If you ask them the majority will tell you
they are happy the way things are going
and hope it continues. I dont blame them

Can you imagine being ex-armed forces
trying to gain employment in this country?
I hope there are just as many prospective
employers who would be proud to have a
vet work for them as there are employers
dreading the spontaneous combustion of
someone afflicted with post war stress.

Some do, some don't. If you're stationed somewhere like korea, you can still get combat pay even though you aren't actually in combat.

Of course they want things to continue going well...that would mean they would be coming home sooner.

They wouldn't have to deal with post-war stress or combat injuries if they weren't over there.

They aren't in full control of where they're sent. When you enlist, you become the property of the U.S. gov't.

And like was said before, just because a congress man/woman says they'll do one thing when they are trying to get elected doesn't mean that they will actually carry it out. Nor does it mean that other congress men/women will vote in favor of the bill.

And like has been said before I want the troops home safely. Just because the gov't sends troops to a place I don't agree with doesn't mean I want them dead because I failed in supporting them by sending care packages etc to them.

And its not the soldiers' campaign, its the bush administrations' campaign.

So no, we don't share similar beliefs

No one is ever in control, you've been fooled into thinking such.

Whose fault is that?

Let us assume that a soldier is actually ecstatic of going to war and killing people, would you still want to fully support him in his campaign?

What I actually had in mind was Nazism. I'm surprised many of you don't

Basically, wars and rumors of wars are going to keep happening. Withdrawing financial support from our soldier's only makes their job more difficult, like being understaffed at McDonald's for a Friday lunch hour rush, it is not a good idea. Let whatever may come come, just do the best we can of what we should.

When did I say that anyone other than the gov't is in control of where people went.
I certainly never said the troops were in control of their situation, if that was what you mean.

If no one was in control, then there would be complete anarchy. People should be completely capable of controlling themselves, but thats not usually what happens.

Please, tell me, who?

What does nazism have to do with this? I'm starting to think you're being irrational about all this.

And all you quoted from me was "..." so fix it so I can see exactly what you were replying to.
