If dumping someone because of physical appearance isn't shallow, then I don't know what is. How could you claim to really love someone if you go and do that?

I know politicians aren't saints, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be called out on their hypocrisy. At least McCain didn't dump his wife while she was undergoing cancer treatment a la Newt Gingrich.

1 is OT:

I don't see where you get the idea that I'm going to rush out on a relationship.

Subjective case, isn't it? Marriage is more than love. I can "love" anyone and anything in this world but it does not mean I'm going to consummate my love. Everyone is "shallow" to an extent. And no where have I used the "shallow" argument, if I understand your usage of the word. I can't even recall using immoral.

2: Neither did I say they shouldn't have it used against them, but they are all too human. Are they not?

Yeah, that was my reaction - he's really quick to judge others (including me) for our so-called lack of morality.

Way to follow the topic.

:)

So the marriage vow of "in health and sickness" doesn't really mean anything? People make contracts and promises, but no one really should be expected to stick to them if it becomes difficult or unpleasant??

I highly doubt people here would remain with their partner fully committed if he/she became deformed to the point that there is no attraction anymore. I still criticize McCain but I am not going to be deaf towards the excuses.
