John McCain is like Jesus on the cross. Fall down and worship him.

No, but he's a better choice than the other two.

John McCain is a near-senile left-lover running a schizophrenic campaign.

I disagree with a lot of what Bush does, but he's at least still got most of his marbles.
As individuals, McCain and him aren't comparable in any way.
They both have "Republican" stamped on them. That's basically where the similarities end.

And Jesus is not on the cross, He's in Heaven keeping an eye on you.

That's how bad Clinton and Obama are. 8)

Wake me up when Obama continually and repeatedly demonstrates that he doesn't know the difference between Sunni and Shia, okay?

Edited to add: It is the height of pedantry to suggest that Kentucky and Arkansas aren't really that together. In terms of demographics, including where the population is concentrated, Kentucky is much more comprable to Arkansas than to Ohio.

And since when are Bush and McCain dissimilar? You must have missed the past eight years of McCain being a Bush sycophant on many issues, and a prominent supporter during the 2004 election. You also must have missed McCain's repeated claims to continue Bush's basic policies in many key areas. Bush is a legitimate issue for McCain, like it or not.

Would that be said if the subject were Bush? Heck there are books on Bushisms.

There is a difference between normal occasional gaffes and Bush's very common screw-ups. Also, there is often some degree of sleep deprivation among politicians that are campaigning, you are much more likely to screw up a remark if you're tired because you only got 4 hours of sleep.

Anyone is better then Bush. Even a half-ways sane Republican like McCain is better then Bush.

Bush never had any marbles to begin with, or at least not since he screwed himself up with booze and cocaine in college.

Culturally, you dolt. Arkansas and Kentucky are both southern states, Illinois is a northern state. Illinois and Kentucky may share a geographic border, but in terms of demographics and culture Kentucky is MUCH closer to Arkansas than it is to Illinois.

These are generally pretty insignificant, but the words were "a nearby state of Arkansas". It is not my impression that that phrasing corresponds to a metaphorical usage...

Yes, so he made a poor choice of words. Arkansas and Kentucky are very similar states, Illinois and Kentucky are not. There's plenty enough about Obama to criticize without going after petty nonsense like this.

But nonsense is so much fun.

And requires so much less well informed...ness...

At least this means that if Obama is elected, Jon Stewart will keep his job (Stephen will keep his as long as the O'reilly factor exists...)

It's proof that we've returned to medieval times, in that the only person who can tell the truth about the king without getting his head cut off is the court jester...

In other words, even though it's not a legitimate news source (a point that is even reiterated many times by Stewart himself), it's the closest thing you're going to find in America to unbiased news.
