Anyway, yeah AS is a pretty small part of my identity; at least that's how I see it. It's a strong influence, to be sure, but I would define myself through my beliefs (or lack of beliefs) and academic goals first.

You guys are really inserting meaning where it's just idiom. In German, one says, "Ich habe Hunger," (I have hunger), but in English, idiom is to say, "I am hungry" ("Ich bin hungrig").

On the contrary, the OP is using the English idiom to say that his mental condition doesn't define him, at least not entirely or even largely

Not one of the above defines my whole person, but I am still all of these things. It's really just how the English language works.

I suppose I do get the feeling sometimes that I'm not aspie. I dunno if it's being a little more "ahead of the curve" when it comes to social practice or if it's just a feeling I get when I'm around my AS friends (not to say that all of them are, about 1 at least diagnoised with it). I suppose it might be the extrovert in me. Anyway yeah I do feel that way a lot.
