has inasmuch always been one word? :o

So, you believe in God? So, you must know that God will win any lawsuit, dumbass.

But the suit is against God's claimed representatives. In view of their consistently stupid and cruel actions why do you assume God is on their side?

I have heard of the Catholic Church being sued effectively for pedophile-related damages. That is as close as you'll ever get to pursuing legal action against God Himself. I think your grievances are actually with your fellow man not with the Almighty. We have not been promised Paradise in this earthly existence. No, if anything this earthly world is closer to hell. Long is the way, and hard, that out of hell leads up to the light ...

Considering what God has actually done lately a successful suit against fellow men who have been proclaiming and enforcing what they claim is God's will would be most satisfactory.

People would end up suing other people, any way you slice it.

HUMAN: Why did you cause all those World Wars and Inquisitions and Holocausts?

GOD: Me? I had nothing to do with it. You decided to kill yourselves in My name.

HUMAN: So You don't start wars?

GOD: I gave you free will so that you could do whatever you wanted, including kill in My name.

One of the delights of being a God is that You can create creatures with motivations that inevitably lead to incessant brutality and horror and then run away and claim innocence because You could not foresee what your creations would perform. Or could You?

We have free will and as such we can make all sorts of claims as to why we do the horrible things we do. In these cases, God is the convenient excuse, the handy pretext for sanctifiying bloodshed, for beatifying war and making saints of warmongers.

Well it's nice to be aware that God didn't know what he was getting into or perhaps he had no ideas what to do about it.

Of course, we could be underestimating God's sense of humor and he might be laughing his head off.

You accuse God of incompetence and stupidity? No, only human beings like you and I are susceptible to those things. It is we who are incompetent and stupid. Human reason should not be worshipped because it 's fallibe.

Consider that if you blame God for everything because everything is God, then so are you and your lawsuit.

wow, another pointless thread, no offence to the OP, but you won't have much luck suing something which isn't there.

Now, this business of worshiping gets me. I don't kneel down and bow my head to reason any more than I do to a cell phone or an electric drill. It's a tool and I use it. And it works pretty well most of the time. Especially if all the data is right. I have no idea what worshiping is supposed to do. It certainly doesn't seem to have any effect on God who is pretty handy with hurricanes, exploding volcanoes, floods and cancer and poison ivy.

I'm suing God. The other day I tripped on one of His creations, a tree root. He shouldn't have left it lying around, and I think He should be financially liable for my foot's distress.
