There is a lot of whispering that it is Gov. Tim Pawlenty. Maybe he can't pick Romney b/c he said too many derogatory things about him in the primaries.

He chose Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska, in an attempt to get Hillary Clinton supporters to vote for him.

It's a little insulting that he thinks that Hillary's supporters were for her only because of the fact that she has female genetalia. Palin is a scary piece of work.

I agree, bold choice. While I don't like the idea the we women might be considered shallow enough to support someone based on gender, she sounds like a good partner for Mc Cain. Adds a lot of interest. Which I hate, because I don't want him to win.

OK, this is ridiculous. Yes, these people have power most of us don't, but if our leaders were just puppets you wouldn't see so much swing when different parties take power, now would you? Those folks aren't changing their own opinions every four years, are they? Wouldn't we be seeing a lot more consistency in policy, action, and leadership? That we are not, that we continue to be caught up in the winds of politics, is pretty strong proof against your theory, IMHO.

uhhh.. *smacks head*

No, you would not see consistency in politics.. because consistency happens when there is honesty, which is lacking.. inconsistency is a sign of DIShonesty.. And the Bilderburg group is WELL aware of how an election works.. you cannot have an election without candidates, so they handpick their favorites and most corruptable and fund them, because typically money has a lot to do with winning the elections nowadays, and most definately the media.. Oh and lets not forget, rigging the election. . the media brainwashes while the election is rigged.. and the cat and mouse game they play with the candidates is their call.. What consistency do you want? Because if they were consisten then they would spill their plan for world domination and that would be a farce.. thats not how you get elected.. they play off false morals. (inconsistent)

Well, you are good for entertaining reading ...

No, you will never sell me. I am way too smart for that. And I've been around the block. Do things go on that would make us cringe? I have no doubt that they do. But to the level you suggest? No way.

It just seems to me like you suffer from shortsightedness.. not to be offensive.. but the 'things that make you cringe' are the symptoms, not the source of problems.. And whenever you have a symptom you have to search for the source, and you'll find just how connected all of the problems are.. the deeper you go the more you discover. All it requires is a sense of right and wrong.. The government performs illegal activities like enforcing Income tax which is illegal !.. and they borrow money from the independant Federal Reserve Bank (owned by the Rockefellers) which for some reason.. has the right to print money.. so they borrow money and pay interest on it and the whole country goes into debt and pays more taxes and the middle class was whiped out because of this.. this is not because they made a 'mistake'.. this is beCAUSE they are trying to bankrupt North America so they can tag and bag us, and make us slaves, and nothing more.. that doesnt mean we'll be whipped by soem guys on black steeds, it means we do the work, make the food, and live sh***y lives and never really go anywhere in live.. no individuality.. no freedom.. a police state of the world..

So.... McCain chose Governor Palin of Alaska as his VP.

That's an interesting choice...

Did he deliberately go out looking for a woman?

That seems like a bad move. I hate to say this, but racism and sexism are both alive and rampant in America. He just forced that significant portion of the population that was going to vote for him simply on the basis that Obama is Black to now decide between a black man, or a white woman.

Seems like the same choice the democrats had a little while ago.

Either way, this election it is now a guarantee that someone other then a WASP Male will be either president or VP.

So, while I applaud McCain for throwing away a significant portion of the voting block in an attempt to garner female voters who are upset that it's not Hillary on the ticket.....I don't think that's gonna happen.

I don't think most women are going to identify with Palin, the gun totting NRA member.

I also think choosing a first term governor with no previous political experience, and putting her one heartbeat from the oval office, is going to weight more heavily on the minds of would-be McCain voters then Obama's choice of Biden.

So, in my analysis...... McCain just handed the election to Obama. That was the biggest mistake he could possibly make.

I almost think McCain deliberately changed his stances to mirror Bush so he could win the nomination and lose on purpose, to end the evil empire.

Or am I casting McCain as too much of a martyr by thinking that?

I would say I suffer from pragmatism, if one could be said to suffer from it. I'm a pragmatic idealist, lol. And quite happily so.

Let me ask you this: what does your understanding of the world accomplish for you in your day to day life? What does it prompt you to do? How does it prompt you to feel?

See, I believe I can make a difference in the world. It all depends on how far I choose to reach. I don't choose to reach far, but on a daily basis I am out there volunteering at my children's school, working to help clients, taking care of my family, and chatting with parents in forums like this to help resolve common issues. I believe that my vote has an impact on how much money the school will get, and indirectly how far the supreme court will allow government to limit personal freedom.

If I'm wrong, what of it? What opportunity have I missed? The opportunity to hold a pessimistic view and work to share it? The opportunity to feel powerless? The opportunity to waste my life because it seems useless to try for something better?

Ultimately, I couldn't care a less what your world views are if you do what you can to make daily life better for those around you, and are basically content with yourself. If your world views interfere with that, then I have to ask what use they are.

ANYWAY, as fun as this has been, I DO have things that require my attention in real life, real time. So I will turn my attention to those, and leave this debate.

I would say yes, since we're talking strictly theoretically here.

Its a risky move but could cause McCain to lose the election when he thinks having a woman vp would get the Clinton supporters to switch sides. He doesn't know that Senator Clinton has asked her supporters to back Obama which a vast majority will because she supports Obama and change. Even if the Republicans went with Ron Paul that is a shot into the foot because his polices would destroyed the US with shrinking the Government thus FBI and CIA don't exist which will cause us to be easy prey for our enemies. That why the CIA was founded and it has done its job well and an economy without governmental regulations may look good in the short run but in the long run it could fall apart though Thatcher proved that wrong with economical statistics showing government revenue went up via a decrease in taxes to all social classes. You can eventually end up with corruption in the economy that it will like what it was before good old Teddy Roosevelt came around. Income Tax is wrong but the Supreme Court has ruled in its favor a good bit since the Government would ended increase taxes in order to pay for programs for the US citizens, hence hyper inflation which is a very bad thing to happened. Anyone can find weak points in any politicians' polices and I just prove Ron Paul's on facts that are the truth from experienced people in their fields.
