Now, either the apostles were "misrepresenting" the truth when they wrote these verses, or your god is less than perfect. Which is it?

Both.

Scripture is not as cut-and-dry as mathematics, obviously. It's in a whole other category. And it it not f**king mathematics, okay? :x

i think people strongly misinterpret the bible and assume aliens play no role in it.. but aliens in the bible were the 'nephilim'.. and the nephilim are again here now, now that the great disaster is coming, Niburu the planet is coming close to our planet and will cause a disaster soon or in 2012, and the aliens are breeding with humans again and desguising themsleves as angels of light (political leaders mostly)..

Do you have any evidence to suggest that some planet named 'Niburu' (never heard of it) is coming close to our own, or that alien hybrids are disguising themselves as angels?

Even I believe that 2012, in and of itself, will be a pretty normal year for our species.

"If I didn't pay, then why are you arguing with me?"

Very clever...

Would you be referring to the Bible/Torah Codes?

I didn't come up with this question, and I forget where I read it (it may have been in one of Carl Sagan's books), but it is nonetheless interesting.

Mathematics is generally considered the "language" of the universe, since it is a pure expression of logic. Not only are there patterns in mathematics itself, but it forms the foundation of the science we use to uncover the deepest mysteries of the Universe. So, the question is, why is there no mathematics in the Bible?

(Yes, I know this question could be posed to any religious scripture, but I'm most familiar with the Bible so please bear with the bias.)

My stance as an agnostic is generally known, but this is a genuine question with no disrespect intended. I want this to be a real discussion with no flaming from anyone.

There's the book of Numbers in the Old Testament.

I agree. It contains lots on history, geneaology, morality, ethics and spirituality and out-n-out religion. Science? Not so much, and mostly metaphors and mythos.

Nibiru is a mythical planet that was supposed to have close enough to the Earth to cause The End Of The World As We Know It. This even has been predicted by people that have no credentials in astronomy, and who get most of their information regarding Nibiru from obscure Babylonian myths and gossip rags like the National Enquirer. Not one bit of direct observational evidence for the existence of Nibiru has been presented, and those pictures that have been given as such are mere photoshopped random images of Mars and Io.

No claimant has ever given any valid orbital elements or any consistent physical characteristics of Nibiru. With the correct orbital elements, I could point my Celestron CPC 925 Series 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain reflecting telescope in the right place and get my own images. From thos images, I could verify the physical characteristics.

But this belief in Nibiru is just like any other cult or religion - it's based solely upon faith in unprovable myths and intangible ideas, and can not be verified by simple observation merely because there is nothing out there to observe. Thus, belief in Nibiru is yet another shared delusion.

I think it was in the 80's that the government found this planet and it made headlines in every newspaper, and then the next day they withdrew their statement and said it was error. Doesn't seem impossible to me..
