Why use logic?

In the correct context logic is very powerful. However people tend to stretch it too far in arguments. The things people claim are logical are often not even in the realm of logical testability. Most things are merely accepted on common sense. The language can be sloppy.

Deductive logic is very useful. Inductive logic is necessary for there to be something to deduce (from).

I have found the results more useful than any alternative I have awareness of. Therefore it (using logic) is (for now at least) the most adaptive strategy I know for achieving the task of 'figuring things out', and this is why I use logic.

Do you think that induction is strictly logic?
Some might say it requires the suspension of logic to some extent.
