No, any possible stress relief is outweighed by the high risk of STDs. It could cause many of these illnesses to rapidly reach epidemic proportions. And while the government would certainly mandate regular screenings, there will be far too many incidents were things fall through.

Besides sexual intercourse is not the only path to happiness. When you've been a virgin for as long as I have you see that there are many other ways to feel good about yourself.

No, legalize maybe, but provide? That forces people who do not condone this kind of sexual activity to pay their taxes to support this. I wouldn't want to do that.

The idea repulses me. Legalise prostitution and make it safer for everyone involved but that's all. The state has no duty to provide for the sex lives of its citizens.

It does seem to be a treatable malady. But the religious would never allow it. I cant seem to think of a reason why but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't.

In a word: "Competition."

Religious leaders have been screwing their followers out of their hard-earned wages since the beginning of recorded history - and likely before then, as well.

If those followers are instead spending their wages on sex, drugs, gambling, recreation, and high-priced toys, then they won't have any money left over to give to their religious leaders.

Thus, religious leaders preach against the "sins" associated with having fun, with sex for pleasure and pay being at the top of the list.

As for the OP topic, considering how socialised medicine operates in Britain and Canada, a citizen would have to fill out innumerable forms describing the particular "therapy" required, then the claim would be reviewed within 90 days, and the "therapy" scheduled within the next 6 months. Likely, the "therapist" will be some third-rate individual whose bedside manner lacks warmth.

Welcome to the world of subsidised sex.

I am all for the Federal Department Of Pimping! Who do you think Obama would nominate for such a position? In texas, we had a crazy guy named "Kinky Friedman" run for governor in 2006 who lost, but managed to get 12.43% of the votes. His slogan was, "Vote for Kinky!", lol.

Ya know, there is such a thing a nymphomaniacs, instead of trying to cure them with sexaholic councelings and stuff just put them to work, its a job I am sure they many times would enjoy, like why not.

and it could greatly reduce chances of suicide and rape.

That doesn't seem relevant to the legal/gov-provided prostitution issue. Unless these government-provided hookers are also obligated to carry their clients' children to term, in which case your system gets a whole lot messier.

Yes, it makes the "lone/loose woman" taboo and marriage system look like a positively tidy way of ensuring that almost all men get a female companion and reproduce their genes.

Quite an extraordinary achievement, which lasted many thousands of years, swept away in a hundred, ( though I suppose that the spread of men's rights in the preceding several hundred years has to be seen as part of the dismantling process ).

Makes me wonder whether the judaic laws forbidding men to have sexual intercourse with their wives for 14 days from the first day of their period each month, ( ie: half of every month ! ), were actually intended to guarantee the women some protection/peace from persistent sexual attention from their husbands.

Weird to think that it may have been a system to make sure most men had female companionship and an opportunity to reproduce, which at the same time hoped to protect women from abuse.

why cant men just masturbate?

If they are not getting emotional fullfillment, how would that be different from masturbation?

surely it would be better to put the money into self developement/self esteem building so that people with problems could get proper relationships.

Plenty of manky people have partners so people could have relationships if they wanted so it must be something standing in their way, I would guess this would be a lack of self worth.

This sounds like something from Monty Python (sorry, but they actually did do a takeoff on 'taxing...thingy?'...;)

Imagine a brothel run like the Government. You'd have to be on time, pay for the stamp, get your business done, before 5pm. No sex on Monday holidays, regular holidays, and only half a day on Saturday (major cities only).

Every year, the contract would be renegotiated, and the price of sex would go up. Women (hey, there'd obviously be a lawsuit giving men equal time, so there would eventually be mixups where they'd assign you your own sex. Just imagine what the evengialists would say...;) Certain practicies would be illegal as demeaning to women (this could get interesting...the whole idea would be demeaining to most women...;) There's be a black market of 'sex cards' that you could buy on the street.

Rural areas would be underserved, of course, and some people would have to go without for months as they waited for a scarce 'case workers' tried to get everyone laid in the inevitable backlog that got created (no cracks, please...;)

Every budget session, Congress would be asking to up the ante on how the people are being screwed (at least now they'd finally be honest about it...;)

and finally, the ATFF (Alchohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and F**king would be cruising the Appalachian Hills for bootleg brothels, and untaxed expletives...;)

you take it from there...;)

If disabled people can't have sex, then no one should, make all sexual activities obsolete and illegal.

Getting laid really is not as hard as it might seem. I dont know about "disabled" as a whole, but the Aspie situation keys on one major flaw.. socialisation. Helping male and female aspies to socialise would inevitably lead to more sex and relationships. (Not neccessarily with each other per se.)

However.. if free sex were assured for disability, false claims would rise exponentially.

Getting laid was a lot easier for most men when women had to marry if they wanted to leave their parent's home, ( and many/most women didn't even have a choice about whether they did that either ). Many men barely had to talk to a woman before they could marry her and have sex with her.

It's not AS men's social skills but changes in social structure which have made things so hard in the last few decades. And I don't think that things are going to change so long as the population is still growing.

It's population control in action. Tough on some men and some genes.

Which is why I think that including sex or at least extensive physical therapy/massage etc, in govt funded health services for the alone and chronically depressed might be a humane step.

Aspies would probably work better under the older social rules and niceties, simply because it was so structured. However, there were different requirements laid upon the man.. mostly financial, some blood related. Cash in the bank, a good family, decent social standing, and who you might be related to.. all vitally important, and having little to do with social skills, or sex. Women werent even being married for the sex itself, but for the links that could be made with them, and the lineage that could occur.. a little like breeding dogs or cats.

Nevertheless, finding someone to mate with is not actually that hard these days, provided certain requirements are met. Mostly these are animalistic mating ritual skills and signs that Aspies cant usually do. Get past those, and things get a lot easier.
