Excuse me, but *adult* stem-cell research has always been legal and STRONGLY ENCOURAGED by both the USA's feds AND its states. What BHO has suddenly allowed is the obsolete and deadly-to-unborn-children *EMBRYONIC* stem-cell research. Adult, as well as umbilical-cord, stem-cell research has already yielded impressive advances in medical technology.

I do not look upon that particular executive order and an advancement in any way.

And unlike some others in here, overall I give GWB a B as president (has there been a successful terrorist attack on USA soil since 2001-09-11?) and I do believe that future historians will be very kind to him. MY biggest beef with him surrounds his handling of domestic issues over the past year.

Now don't get me wrong, I am an American and I take pride in being so. I'm not condoning terrorism or nuclear war in this statement. Personally if I had my way terrorists wouldn't exist, and neither would nukes. But I'm thinking about all the problems America is facing today as far as it's relationship with the rest of the world. And I can see many instances in which the fault for these problems can be traced to one country. It's not Iraq. It's not Russia. It's not China, or North Korea, or Iran, or Israel, or Palestine, or any country in the Middle East, the Communist bloc, or the former Soviet Union. Have you guessed the guilty one yet? That's right, its the land of the free, the home of the brave, the good old US of A. America may think that the problems are caused by those who wish to destroy America and the foundation it was built on. Well, why would anyone want to destroy a country as good as the US? The answer: Venegance. They want retribution for the times we have wronged them. A lot of decisions that we have made have come back to haunt us. Take WWII, for example. If it weren't for Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we would never have had to worry about Russia in the Cold War, or Iran and the possibility of terrorists obtaining a nuke. Why? Because nukes wouldn't exist. It's like the kid walking down the street, showing off his new toy, and then everyone else wants one for themself. Even if we had decided to create the atomic bomb anyways, we still could have avoided the threat of nuclear war by deciding to keep it a secret. We would have still had the technology, but if we didn't nuke Japan no one else would have found out about it until much later. And another thing: why do these terrorists hate America? I don't believe they woke up one morning and decided, "Lets start a jihad with America!" just like that. There had to have been something, some injustice on America's part that spawned their hatred. Well, just look at George Bush Sr., meddling with affairs in the Middle East. And his son wasn't helping matters at all by starting a war, by turning a blind eye to the chaos that resulted from it. I mean it's true Saddam Hussein had to go, but wouldn't it had been so much easier after he metaphorically flipped us the bird to just send in Army Spec Ops to capture him quickly and silently, to make him disappear? But no, we had to do a full scale invasion, in which countless Iraqis lost their lives, just because they happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm not saying I agree with the terrorists actions. I would die before I said that. But after imagining what it would be like if some foreign country came around and stomped all over my home and land, I can see why they would hate us.

Anyways, just thought I'd vent and share my thoughts.

Wake up, son. We have enemies that we did not make. American has bled so that other people could be free. We have fed the hungry, housed the homeless, killed the lice (DDT was invented her), defended the oppressed and fought the Fascists. If others hate us, so be it. We have to defend ourselves as best we can. We have not always behaved wisely in that regard, I am afraid but we did not created the Evil of Radical and Extreme Jihadi Islam. That has existed since the Crusades which Christians did over a thousand years ago.

America is very easy to hate. The US is the greatest economic, military, political, technological, and cultural power on earth. Of course what we do affects the the world more than what other countries do. The world isnt held together by a universal morality. It is held together by national interest. And the US is the best at pushing its national interest.

The US is the largest cultural exporter in the world. Our music, movies, clothing. Everything from rock and roll to blue jeans. The US is the cultural leader in the world by far and has been for some time. We can sell the world anything.
