If a person really thinks it so important to rid the world of racism, making the races completely extinct would be the obvious way to go about it. Then you would simply end up with a situation where every individual in the world belonged to a race of one, and the problem of racism would shift from how to prevent people from acting in their group's self-interest to how to prevent people from acting in their individual self-interest.

Alternatively, people might view the pursuance of self-interest as intrinsic to life, and understand that if it were not for subgroups within species separating and acting remaining separate (ie, acting as groups with group interests), there would be no biodiversity on this planet at all. A group such as a race is a biological unit - much like an individual organism is - and without discriminating between self and non-self (ie, being racist) it will not survive.

There are a few groups of people, such as in the Andaman Islands, who are culturally and genetically isolated.

http://www.survivalinternational.org/tribes/jarawa#main

and of which only a few handfuls of people remain.

Should missionaries go and convert them to one of the world's major religions? Should people from the Indian mainland go and intermarry with them? Or, should they be kept in primitive conditions, to be preserved as human oddities?

They should do what they want, when they want.

Yes but to pay no attention to race in instances where genuine racism is occuring makes you co-corrobotive.

Because there are still people who believe certain skin colors makes you less than others.

These days when someone is accused of being racist, it's probably more likely that the individual is just someone a leftist wants to silence and has nothing to do with any racial discrimination.

That's the excuse the right makes to cover their own racism. And no, I did not just call you a racist - but I do think they've gotten you to parrot everything they spout.

Actually it's more of the fact that I personally have been called a racist repeatedly online because I'm a conservative, as have many other conservatives.

Kraichgauer it isn't an excuse the right makes up, the left commonly tries to use the race card as a way to intimidate people instead of trying to actually point out racism.

Also to be quite blunt, I've seen more racism spewed from the left than I have from the right.

Really? I seem to recall how civil rights legislation from the mid twentieth century on has been championed by the left. Those southern Democrats who had opposed civil rights in good time became Republicans - much with the encouragement of Nixon's southern strategy. Since then, the right has used racially charged code words like "welfare queen," and scapegoated those on public assistance - black, brown, and white - for somehow being responsible for all this country's financial and social woes.
So how is the left guilty of misusing race?

How have inner city schools improved? They haven't have they.

Okay I'm going to pull up something Newt Gingrich stated:

Especially pay attention to 3 minutes 20 seconds into the speech.

And yet he's all for firing janitors making "absurd amounts of money." Gingrich is all for entrepreneurs, but he has made it clear that workers should apparently be happy being low paid, and unorganized.
And for the record, Obama never put anyone on food stamps - people apply for them as their needs require. A lot of those people have children, and it's their welfare that the "elites" care about. And most of those people who need to seek public assistance often are the very people Gingrich claims he is prodding to get employed - as unionized public sector jobs are becoming an endangered species.
And who says there hasn't been any improvement in inner city public schools? While not every one of them has gotten better, neither are they all bad.

*sigh* Okay, fine. If we absolutely have to have a Fox News twist to the present discussion:

The man who most famously came down with a serious case of "Yellow Fever" was Saint Rupert himself.

Image

Image

Rupert, whom Pope John Paul II made a Knight of the Order of Saint Gregory the Great, married Wendi Deng on 25 June, 1999, just 17 days after divorcing his second wife, Anna. Rupert was 68, and Wendi was 30.

Here is Saint Rupert with second wife Anna, while they were still married:

Image

She doesn't seem to have put on a lot of weight, like White women tend to do when they age. But, she may have become frumpier, and lost interest in coitus as she got older and more menopausal. Old geezers like Rupert don't necessarily have to give up sex any more, thanks to modern miracle drugs like cialis and viagra.

It seems to be fairly common for wealthy old men to divorce their wives and get themselves a hot, attractive, and much younger Oriental dish.

And, yes, this is going to be Fox News' one and only talking point on the subject.

Plus, Wendi Murdoch is very tough, and possesses tremendous skills in the martial arts

http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-j ... hting-wife

Absolutely NO-ONE had better flirt with Rupert. There is NOT going to be a Mrs. Murdoch Number 4!! !!

Aren't they a cute couple, really?

According to Rupert, she said "No" at first, and it took him a long time to persuade her. Seventeen days must seem like a very long time to a horny old goat like Rupert.

By the way, sorry I had to bring out the big guns there. It was either that, or the discussion would have ended with a silly Newt Gingrich political speech.

Anyway, to get back to where we left off before the goofy Newt Gingrich tangent:

One person (who later changed his mind as the result of an epiphany) stated that encouraging intermarriage between Black women and Asian men was "Leftist", and that the "Conservative" approach would be to encourage people to marry within their own race.

The most eligible Conservative Black woman was Condaleezza Rice

Image

She is an accomplished pianist, W's Secretary of State, very bright, intelligent, and talented. She would have made an excellent catch.

Where were the prominent Black Conservative men, that might have been a part of her pool of potential mating partners?

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas got himself a White Woman

Image

As did Michael Steele, Alan Keyes, etc. Herman Cain has a Black wife, but has enjoyed a series of White side-dishes.

At one time, Miss Rice was engaged to Rick Upchurch, a Black professional football player. Lots of Black professional athletes marry White women, none of whom look at all like Rosie O'Donnell. For example,

Image

Image

Given the seeming lack of prominent Conservative Black men, if Miss Rice had pursued men of other races, then she probably wouldn't have been doomed to die an old maid. Rush Limbaugh was between wives a few times. They might have made a cute couple. Bill O'Reilly was single until 1996. Possibly there were some single conservative Asian men. Being Conservative is a stereotype of Asians, anyway.

Shall we taunt Old Spinster Condi with a song?

Was that a "yes?"

Well, okay then. With a oney and a twoey...

I don't suppose it's occurred to you that Condi didn't /want/ to marry some conservative douche who thinks that women belong in the kitchen?
There's a reason that women are usually more progressive as a group than men: sheer self-interest. Condi is willing to look past that in a party, but probably isn't willing to look past it in a mate.
All of that said, but maybe she's gay and is already de-facto married to someone the rest of her party simply wound't accept.

I always sort of thought she and Bush had had a secret thing going on. In fact, once during a state dinner (I believe) she had begun calling Bush "my husband..." when she reverted to "the President." So Condi's not married possibly because her heart belongs to Dubya.

as a product of an inter racial marriage, and the fact that 1 in 5 marriages in this country are inter racial, I don't see a real need for "promotion." It's happening quite naturally.. I do think the media should portray more inter racial couples though, to reflect this trend.
