A lot of people consider the CSA to be the "real" America. Nitwits all of them
The CSA has not been the real anything since it ceased to exist in 1865. Dixie lost.

But it lives on in the hearts and minds of inbred cretins.

actually it lives on in history books not written by self deluding revisionists bent on demonizing a region that had had enough of being told what to do by a group who neither cared nor had any interests but their own.. But Hey tell yourself whatever helps you sleep. I bet you think the Democratic party didn't write and of the "Jim Crow" laws too or abrogate the constitution on a yearly basis.
The fact of the matter is, the Republicans of the Civil War era had been the liberal, pro-federal party. It had been the Democrats who had been the pro-states rights, small government, conservative party.
And as a matter of fact, there were plenty of southerners who were pro-Union. Not only were they the black slaves who yearned for freedom, but there were many whites who had either headed north to fight in the Union army, or who had stayed at home to carry on non-stop guerrilla warfare against the confederacy. Unfortunately, most whites in the south had sided with the confederate cause, and despite revisionist attempts to make their struggle a fight for states rights, the fact of the matter was, it was really about slavery.
