Yet.. the bible teaches self-regulation.. meaning.. we should try to sort these matters out between ourselves..

Accepting apologies.. whenever they are forth-coming.. and forgiving.. rather than bearing a grudge.. on the basis that we all wrong each other.. sometimes.. since non of us are perfect.

Concerning those who don’t feel any regret.. or remorse.. Jesus advised.. that we should treat them like the taxman..

Meaning.. try to avoid them.. at all costs.. :-)

----

“Pay attention to yourselves. If your brother commits a sin give him a rebuke, and if he repents forgive him. Even if he sins seven times a day against you and he comes back to you seven times, saying, 'I repent,' you must forgive him." – Luke 17:3

---

In fact.. there is nothing in the bible which says we need to go to church.. and confess to a priest.. or to pay him for his “services”.. on the way out.. (as we would a prostitute)

For example.. does this sound familar.. ?

---

“Her own head ones judge merely for a bribe, and her own priests instruct just for a price, and her own prophets practice divination simply for money; yet upon God they keep supporting themselves, saying: "Is not God in the midst of us? There will come upon us no calamity."

“Their hands are upon what is bad, to do it well; the ruler is asking for something, and the one who is judging does so for the reward, and the great one is speaking forth the craving of his soul, his very own; and they interweave it.

Their best one is like a brier, their most upright one is worse than a thorn hedge. The day of your watchmen, of your being given attention, must come. Now will occur the confounding of them.”

Micah 3:1 & 3:11

---

Does the bible have anything good at all to say about the practices of organized religion.. ?

The short answer is.. no.

---

“What shall I do to you, when the loving-kindness of you people is like the morning clouds and like the dew that early goes away? That is why I shall have to hew them by the prophets; I shall have to kill them by the sayings of my mouth. And the judgments upon you will be as the light that goes forth.

For in loving kindness I have taken delight, and not in solemn assembly.; and in the knowledge of God rather than in your use of uncanny power. But they themselves, like earthling man, have overstepped the covenant. There is where they have dealt treacherously with me. And as in the lying in wait for a man, the association of priests are marauding bands.”

Hosea 6:4

Thanks for all the biblical verses Accelerator. :D
The popes came to some of their own conclusions and unfortunately so many people have become brainwashed by it
I see a pattern coming back concerning religion and government. The Christian Coalition and the old Nazi Regime have similarities.
Mainly that of non-tolerance and propaganda...

Science (from the Latin scientia, meaning "knowledge" or "to know") is the effort to discover, and increase human understanding of how the physical world works. Scientific evidence is evidence which serves to either support or counter a scientific theory or hypothesis.

Since anarchy is seen as a kind of lawless existence.. some questions that occur to me are..

Do laws.. that are imposed.. by others.. on us.. work.. ?

Or do they actually create more crimes than they prevent.. ?

-

“If you have ten thousand regulations you destroy all respect for the law.” - Winston Churchill

-

Then again.. when it comes to enforcement of laws..

Does prison really work.. ?

Some see prison as a university of crime.. where villains can meet like minded villains.. get fit in the gym.. and then commit more crimes as soon as they are freed.

Many become so institutionalized to the prison system.. that it no longer acts as a deterrent.. it becomes just a part of their life-style.

One danger of imprisoning people is it can create a feeling of anger and resentment against the society that has done this to them.. making them a greater danger.. when they come out.. than when they went in.

Sometimes.. maybe.. prison does change behavior.. but not enough.

A common problem nowadays is that people go into prison and come out addicted to hard drugs.. because these are much easier to smuggle in.

Yet if they can’t control people in prison.. however do they expect to be able to control them.. once freed.. out on the street.. ?

Should we make them all lifers.. to protect the public.. ?

Another problem is we often imprison the mentally ill.. for relatively minor offenses.. instead of offering them support.. help and treatment. There was a case of someone recently who tried to commit suicide.. and ended up in police cells.

Then there is the issue of imprisoning people for petty offences.. like an old lady who got caught stealing milk (obviously she must have been very poor and in need to do such a thing)..

Yet blind justice sends her to prison.. making her a criminal.

It is a machine.. with no understanding or heart.. (like the Matrix)

But.. is that what we want.. really.. ?

Is that fair.. ?

Considering “justice” means fairness….. or at least it should.

This is just a few of examples of how crime can be increased.. rather than decreased.. by a flawed system of justice.. which.. in my mind.. is a condition of lawlessness..

We might even describe it as anarchy.

It looks that way to me.. everyone is doing what they consider to be right.. in their own eyes…

There is no agreement.. concerning right and wrong.

Just endless opinions.. made into laws.. to snare.. and bind us all to the great idea.

Laws are so numerous nowadays.. that most of us are criminals.. if not all.

Just the other day I was caught.. red-handed.. riding my bicycle on the pavement (my defense was there was no bicycle path there.. and every one does it.. anyway).

A couple of months later.. I got a letter from the “devil”.. saying I had to pay 30 euros.. which is daylight robbery.. if you ask me..

And.. it hasn’t stopped me riding on the pavement either...;-p

So aren’t we all doing what is right in our own eyes.. ?

Not obeying the laws.. but rather trying to find a way to get round them.. and not get caught..:-)

That’s how I see it.. anyway.

Anyway.. I'm off to get some drugs.. :-)

"The law was made for one thing alone, for the exploitation of those who don't understand it, or are prevented by naked misery from obeying it."

Bertolt Brecht

Evidence no more counts as 'proof' than rejecting a statistical hypothesis (even at a very high significance level) counts as 'proof' that it isn't true

You can bold the term 'evidence' as much you want; it only serves to underscore that you still don't understand the substantial distinction between standards of belief in math and science, something this math/science student finds very comical

Who here is a fan of anarchy? I mean it in the most peaceful sense. I for one would be more than humbled to bow down to a rightful leader, but as of yet, I do not see any worthy alpha male in the US government. Obama has his head in the clouds, but he is a great speaker in my opinion. Where are all the leaders? Our government is run by greedy wasps! All the men who I like are just pansy ass pusses. Why can't a strong male figure rise above this propaganda and lay the truth out before us without being so wimpy?

If anyone can rise against the establishment, it must come from an aspie who has nothing to lose. It's unrealistic for a woman to do it at this point in time. Why are liberals so weak and sentimental, so scared of being outcasts?

If you laugh, go alone and cry. I'm not looking for popular opinion but just one who recognizes the importance of political reformation.
Is there one man out there who wants to see a change in the upcoming NWO?
WTF are you spouting off about Magus? the New World Order ... are you seriously for real? That bull is what gets men killed, sure you are a woman but do not put that past anyone. I may just be a pawn inspired by the idea of "god" but i still have sense to not fight the system. it is fine in it's place. i am not a pacifist just a man who knows when to fight or feels he must learn when to fight ... are you by any chance aware of how much man power a revolution would take, let alone how many lives? because what you speak of is a peaceful blood bath of disorder and chaos ... it must come in time but patience is more important. let the system destroy itself , we (AS Nation) need not get involved. in fact quite the opposite, i say we clean up the mess. Like janitors to the cause we will form the new laws, instated by us and us alone, the people of USA ignorant spoiled and culturally united...

Anarchists are the ones with their heads in the clouds. Sometimes they call themselves Libertarians in an attempt to fool us. :shameonyou:

Ha-ha love the libertarian joke ... but seriously for real, you have a point. We need to update the system not change or overthrow it.

the real problem is opinions. everyone has one but sadly we all miss the origin. as in humanity is still one god damned race not a bunch of races ... basically some people have more mellatonin then others so they formed colonies based off of that ... social biology people  well these people also form groups and religious practices and they always build family's ...

we are still just as primal today as back before "god's" shady finger touched the "big bang" the social situation and overpopulation are all that changed. we are just a likely to kill ourselves as the last guys ... it is a matter of enlightenment now becoming aware and the best people possible so that if and only if there ever should come a time, we the intelligent nation of humanity can unite under one flag and brighten the path for our children...

I think you should read all of the posts before you respond.
Start over and then tell me what you think.

I'm not proposing a war. I'm just trying to get people to see the big picture. Some of the most intelligent people do not understand theories and patterns. I like to use the Socratic method of instigating free thought. I started this thread because I oppose war and the genocide that is taking place in Afghanistan. I realize that I can't just tell people things and expect them to see it. Also, I like to have banter and feedback because it allows me to see things in a new light and continue to think for myself even more. :)

This is the Revolution I want to start.

I like your revolution and I will be a part of it.. in fact I already am! 8) I like your mind, it is refreshing. There is a lot of encyclopedia minds around here..
I don't like encyclopedias.. :x they are written by the kind of people I despise. Though they aren't what they used to be..
They used to have actual information.. now they have so much false information because everybody needs facts to keep their brain running. In other words, everyone is too stupid to think for themselves.

I'm not Chever, but...I really don't know how to respond to that in any other way. You despise the "kind of people" that write encyclopedias? What exactly is that kind of person? A compendium-contributing scholar?

No, the voice of authority that write books of facts that are no more legitimate then school textbooks.. fair enough?

I'm not saying they are 100% bogus.. just, not as relevant as they used to be. They are all owned by the authority in the world, and there is only one authority.

But I kind of misspoke there... I shouldnt really be going after encyclopedias... i hate school textbooks for this reason, but not so much encyclopedias

The kind of people who spend countless man-hours bringing knowledge to the world. A plague upon their house. A plague upon their house.

I know how you feel. I hate the Johnsonbaugh discrete mathematics text for sucking.
