Thanks, Nurseangela!

That's a good link. I learned that the Clinton Foundation

Quote:
partners with government, non-government organizations and businesses to tackle quality-of-life issues, such as AIDS, poverty and climate change.

and
Quote:
Clinton Foundation spokesman Craig Minassian said most of the money from foreign countries is earmarked for specific projects and grants, like AIDS relief. Minassian said that the ad implied nefarious dealings, and that isn’t the case.

"I just have a problem with the premise of the ad," Minassian said. "It’s the same premise when people say we’re the same as a Super PAC. We’re not; we’re philanthropy. This is what NGOs do."

and
Quote:
We should note that since the ad came out, and while we were reporting this story, the Washington Post reported that the contribution from Algeria, that had never donated previously, came while Clinton was Secretary of State and was not approved by the State Department.

It sounds like they do really, really good work.

Kudos to the Clintons for using their prestige to raise money for good causes.

I see that you forgot to read all the important information - as usual. That's deplorable.

I mentioned before that he sure did look like Bill.Even more so now.I have no idea why they don't claim him as kin,the right thing to do.
He should get a good lawyer and get DNA done. The descendants of Jefferson did. They finally received the recognition they deserved.
They can get the DNA sample off Monica's blue dress.LOL

The Colorado DOW had a kokanee salmon giveaway today (they die after they spawn, so the DOW collects them as not to create an algae bloom in Spring), and on my way to the hatchery I saw the best political sign I've seen this year: EVERYONE SUCKS 2016. Byline: America is doomed. Also, after gutting and filleting three dozen fish I can say the smell still isn't as bad as the odor of our candidates. That is all.

Probably not. I mean, voting is already underway in some states, and at this stage there's less than 5% undecided voters-- yeah I know, who the F are these people?

Yeah, I just watched the speeches too. And no it doesn't matter. I doubt most people have ever heard of this event. There will be the typical sound bytes for the political nerds but that's all.

The Clinton Foundation accepts money, legally, from foreign governments. So what?

This is Trump giving a speech at the Catholic Charities dinner. I can't believe what I'm witnessing. I used to work at a Catholic Charities hospital. I've been a Catholic my entire life. I'm not one of them. I am no longer a Catholic.

There's a Cardinal sitting between Trump and Hillary and they know what she's doing to the Catholic Church, but they are still laughing it up and it's because they are in on it. The Cardinals are the ones that brought in the new Pope. (It's the Bishops that know the truth and are speaking up against the new Pope.) They are making an ass out of Trump, but he's letting them have it right back. I've never seen such a spectacle. It's like watching a bad movie. They set Trump up. He shouldn't have went. The Catholic Church is corrupt.

Comedy by its nature can be offensive. One thing to be aware in sharing comedy is know your audience.

Another is to have a comeback if a line is not received. Johnny Carson was great at both.
Adjusting in life for me was learned by adjusting on stage.

I'm not an expert on corruption

Those jokes are pretty good.

What are Clinton and Pope Francis doing to the Catholic Church, Angela?

Cardinal Dolan, like a lot of Catholics I have known
A. Have a great sense of humor
B. Can tell a good story /joke.
(Above is a general not scientific statement)

One of the best lines attributed to him was about the Democrats couldn't do any more damage than the Church had done to itself.

As "Pogo" said - We have met the enemy and it is us.

As one lapsed Catholic to another: the church has ALWAYS been corrupt, it's not a recent phenomenon. And, to be honest, if we're looking historically this is about the least corrupt it's ever been-- not that it doesn't still stink.

Edit: as for the quip on Francis, he's advocating theological interpretations that are different than the positions taken over the last 300 years or so (the post-reformation era), but it should be noted these theological positions aren't in the bible, but neither was the previous standard. That said, he's the grand pubba now, I have no problem with him using that institutional authority how he sees fit-- every other pope has. My concern with Francis is that his external personality does not match his history (it's a charade)-- look up the Argentina Dirty War, Francis sold out 2 monks who were protesting the violence of one of the forces, when that faction came to Francis he didn't offer his 2 monks sanctuary, he sold them out and they were executed. That event was a morally defining moment and he failed it-- just like a politician, saving his own ass.

How certain are you of that story, Aristophanes?

The BBC gave me a different impression, but you might have better sources:
http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-21794798

Quote:
"When the priests were kidnapped, he met [the then head of the navy] Emilio Massera to ask for their release," Ms Oliveira adds.
Fr Yorio and Fr Jalics were eventually freed in October 1976 after suffering months of gruesome torture at the notorious Navy School of Mechanics, the main clandestine detention centre.
