Calling or implying a question is foolish or stupid is not an acceptable way to refuse it.

Indeed.

Something else to consider is that the letters to Timothy are Paul's way of writing a kind of "how-to" leadership manual for preachers. Consider how many epistles were written to "churches," and yet the letters to Timothy are very personal--specific. Sure, the advice is good for anyone, but the main audience here are church leaders.

It's ok, Lee. kxmode is as gentle as one can get. I have no issues with any religious theists here when it comes to manners and gentleness.
