Of course we do. I can name some - the former senator Kacinisch (spelling), who never achieved his calling of becoming the senator from Mars, and Anthony Weiner, whose name proved to be his destiny. Then there were those racist southern Democrats, or Dixiecrats of old - who've since largely become Republicans.

Typical of politicians they tend to go with the wishes (i.e. votes) of their constituents and the well-to-do people that slide money their way, especially come election time.
I'm sure it'll be a huge disappointment to you but the south of the 21st century is considerably different than it's portrayal in Gone With The Wind which seems to be your kind's only reference of it.
