Talk of a Contested Convention. Thing is the Republicans want to put in Paul Ryan or Kasich - not Cruz. Trump will probably run separately. Bernie is hoping for a contested convention as well. I would vote for Trump or Cruz. Anyone else - hell to the NO. This should be very interesting.

Trump has to get the 1200 or so delegates before the convention convenes in July; otherwise, there's the real possibility that the nomination will not be determined until after the first ballot.

After the second ballot, I believe, delegates who aren't "sworn" to the candidate can change their minds. It's almost as if everything is back to square one, and that the primaries were seemingly a waste of time.

I think that everyone but Cruz is scary and uninformed. Honestly, I believe this isn't the most important election in our lifetimes. I think it is the most important election in the history of the republic. These are dark times, and Trump, Clinton, and Sanders are the least likely to do everything they can to fix problems, and they will probably exacerbate the situation.

Don't even get me started on Trump's opinion on Autism, Clinton's ideology, or Sander's scariness.

While I disagree with the minor things that Cruz has an opinion on, he is the most likely to get stuff done, in a way that is beneficial for America and it's Allies, maybe even the world.

On a side note, anyone think about how the world would be without a strong, constitutionalist America?

A man who somebody could 'murder on the floor of the senate and still be acquitted' isn't someone that can get things done. Ted who has no real principles of course, he's an 2000 Dubya going on 2001 but instead of wanting to have a beer with him you want to punch him in the face. Cruz has zero chance at winning in November, he is not going to bring new people to the party or redraw the electoral map like Trump can, Cruz has to know he is being used by the establishment and won't be given the nomination if it goes to second ballot otherwise I see that as evidence that he was always controlled opposition to begin with. Ted wants more terrible trade deals, more wars for oil and Israel, more amnesty, more H1b abuse, more handouts for people like his wife who is an executive at Goldman Sachs. It's kind of funny that Kasich is the other candidate in this race too, as he was one of the folks at Lehman Brothers when it almost crashed the global economy.

A vote for Ted Cruz is a vote for Hillary Clinton, you will destroy the Republican party as we know it and throw the election in November stealing this nomination. The party establishment already have their guy, they're building Paul Ryan up again as this unifying Shermanesque reluctant leader that everybody will rally around to save the day or so goes the fantasies that go in their heads. They'd rather throw this election and cripple the Republican party permanently before letting Trump win, the establishment needs to be cast from the party wherever possible until these stupid politicians start getting it and go with what the PEOPLE elected them to do rather than what their donors or future employers want.

Cruz is a constitutionalist only when it fits him, just like he's a baptist preacher when it fits, now he's trying on some establishment clothes because now that fits. Ted is as untrustworthy as it gets, he's a liar and backstabber who has betrayed everybody that ever allied with him. He ran and split the vote with Rand who helped get him elected then didn't even bother to show up for the audit the fed bill once he no longer cared about winning Paul supporters. He buddied up with Trump and Carson, he LIED about Carson dropping out in Iowa while the election was still going and has been nothing but dirty tricks since. Cruz is a sure loser, a pawn that will be cast aside for their GOP establishment savior Paul Ryan! Does that make you excited for NOvember?

Lets not forget he's Canadian and not even really a natural born citizen! Alan Grayson has a lawsuit ready just like Trump says for if Ted wins the nomination which would be absolute chaos.

Trump is a builder, he's a dealmaker, he doesn't want to play some IRL version of Civ in the Middle East. We need somebody that will change these trade deals that are murdering jobs in this country and somebody that will actually invest in this country instead some other country who buy support from. It's a joke, our so called allies have become wildly rich while America has stagnant and in a state of decline. All that wealth that got built over these last 50 years, I think we got screwed royally because we wanted to play global hegemony at the expense of our people. Cruz won't deal with these things, he's going to make it even worse.

Cruz might be all which you have described.

But there's no doubt that he is an American.

And I'm no advocate for Cruz......not by any stretch of the imagination.

It is something that there isn't precedence for, some people are of this opinion that you automatically a citizen if one of your parents is no matter where in the world you are born and it's not like Ted on a military base or something. He grew up for the early part of his life in Canada, used Canadian healthcare, his father had Canadian citizenship, for somebody so smart about the law I do not believe for a second that Cruz did not know about his duel-citizenship up until just before he decided to run for president. There is a real argument that he is not eligible, it's isn't based on conspiracy about where he was born like Obama because we know Cruz was not born in the United States. We had this big thing about Obama's birth certificate but what was the point if he would of still been considered a natural born citizen if he was born in Kenya or anywhere else for that matter? With Cruz, this is actually actionable and it's 4-4 on the Supreme Court now so I don't know how things could turn out. How could you seat president who's eligibility is being challenged in court? It could take years, it's not like Ted would actually win but there really is no point. A vote for Cruz is a vote for Hillary, simple as that.

If we are to believe the new definition of natural born citizenship then Winston Churchill could of ran for US president. If this is true then Prince Hashim of Jordan is qualified to run for POTUS. Doesn't make any sense to me, this is something that needs to be cleared up. I do not think any dual-citizen should be qualified to run and there should be a long period after which you RENOUNCE your dual citizenship before being becoming eligible. I think a natural born citizen should mean somebody born to at least one American parent in this country and 2 on non-US territory.

Ted isn't a natural born citizen but rather derived citizen from his mother who has some funny records of her own considering she had not lived in America for over 10 years by the time she returned to America. The reason Rafael Jr and his mom moved to America was actually because Rafael Sr decided to abandon them in Canada and move to Texas where he had a "religious awakening" and returned to fetch his family a year later. I'm not sure if Ted's parents were married when he was born, they could demand that he take a DNA test to prove he is who he says he is. It's not even clear if she was divorced yet from her previous husband who's last name she uses on that birth certificate. The Cruz records in Canada should be released soon as he no longer has the same privacy protections as expat.
