The weak link in almost all the Kennedy conspiracies is actually Jack Ruby; he was only nearby when the cops brought Oswald out by sheer coincidence because he was placing a money order for one of his dancers, and decided to shoot Oswald on a whim after being filled with patriotic rage at the death of the president. There's a ton of documentation of Ruby and his whereabouts leading up the killing of Oswald, the sheer number of people he interacted with on that day in order to randomly place him at the right spot at the right time is beyond the capability of any conspiracy.

The other thing a lot of people forget about is that Oswald previously tried to kill Edwin Walker, a far right John Birch Society member, which doesn't really fit with the usual conspiracy theories, but does work perfectly if you think Oswald was the assassin and did it because of the Bay of Pigs invasion (and because he was a loser who wanted to be famous).

But Ruby had also been working for both mobs in Chicago and New Orleans (which controlled organized crime in Dallas), which had had been involved in the infamous CIA/Mafia plots. A prostitute who had worked for Ruby told the Warren Commission that Ruby had been running guns for the Anti-Castro underground. There is a theory that Oswald perhaps was meant to have been killed rather than arrested, giving mobsters involved in the CIA's secret war on Cuba incentive to kill Oswald.
Then again, you may be completely right.

I also believe it's possible that the gods of our world were all alien visitors.

I have a friend who believes the moon landing was faked like some people but I do not understand why it's so hard to believe. Plus the motivation for it is really not that strong. Just as an f-you to the Soviets, it's worth risking something that embarrassing, with no real money to risk being made hardly?

It would have been the most laughable cheat at a p#$@ing contest in history if that was the case.

This is an area where I'll freely admit that my interest has only been casual, so you likely do know more than me on all the details, I'm just doing that thing where I weigh the possibilities and decide which seems more likely to me. Oswald really sounds like a lot of our modern mass shooters, a loser who saw an opportunity to become infamous by committing a terrible crime, with some weird politics and associations that made the whole thing look way more suspicious when people started tracing out all the connections.

One of my favorite details comes from The Mitrokhin Archive, which is a handwritten history of the KGB from the Bolshevik revolution up to the 1980s, smuggled out of the Soviet Union by the former KGB archivist in charge of overseeing it's transfer to a new headquarters when the First Chief Directorate moved to Yasenevo. Among other really interesting information was the fact that the Russians were terrified that we'd think they had something to do with the Kennedy assassination due to Oswald having defected to them at one point, and so they actually started a number of the conspiracy theories themselves as an "active measure" to confuse US intelligence and keep the American public from linking them to the killing. The KGB was as shocked and in the dark as everyone else by the assassination, but they really didn't want to take the blame by mistake, and so they preempted that possibility with disinformation.

I'm not an expert on this one, but I've listened to Joe Rogan talking about moon landing conspiracies with some guests a few times, and a lot of what they were saying was based around some NASA training films being represented as actual space footage, and the fact that so many other technologies have advanced and become cheaper since the space race era, but not those associated with the moon landings. I think it's a pretty goofy theory, but it's fun to bat around as an intellectual exercise.

Well it's just there seem to be enough holes in the theory to make it hard to believe it could have been faked, but I can check out those Rogan podcasts about it.

But if I try to point out the holes to my friend, he just covers his ears and says I am being close minded. He doesn't even try to fill the holes or want to discuss them even. His only proof that the moon landing was faked, is that it was done by Stanley Kubrick, and that Kubrick confessed to it, because of what he chose for the boy's shirt in The Shining.

But that's not a confession at all, and doesn't hold up I would say. I'm thinking that's it?? That's all he has? Strange how he would believe it so well then.

I'm not sure what to think about the Moon Landing conspiracy tbh. I mean it wouldn't be the first time that the American government has misled people and I could picture our government at the time doing anything to rankle the feathers of the Soviets.

Well it just seems to me that it would be such an immature childish thing to do to beat the Soviets. It would be like say if an Afghan was in the Olympics, and the Americans said "Afghanistan is our enemy, and now an Afghan olympian has a shot at beating us in the olympics, can't have that! We need to rig the olympics and cheat so we can beat this Afghan therefore"

Is it even worth the effort?

Maybe that's what Psychological Warfare is all about?

But that's hardly what I could call real warefare but that's just my opinion.

Another thing is, in order to fake the moonlanding you would have to have camera and video digital special effects technology that would be 40 years ahead of it's time almost. If NASA had this technology back then, they would have made millions off it, completely revolutionizing the film and TV industry around the world.

They would have made a lot more money at this than keeping it quiet for 40 years to keep a faked moonlanding hidden. So it doesn't make sense why NASA would pass up the opportunity to make a lot more money in comparison.

Why give up the opportunity to become billionaires, and choose to throw that away, to achieve a much more pro bono goal in comparison instead?

I dunno, like I said I really dont know what to make of the Moonlanding thing. It could be fake or it could be real.

Astronomers still use the reflectors that the astronauts placed on the moon to bounce lasers shot from Earth. How did those reflectors get there if the astronauts didnt really land there?

Some folks believe that there really WAS a "Philadelphia Experiment", AND that we did NOT land on the Moon.

The Philadelphia Experiment is alleged to have occurred in the middle of WWII. The US Navy, with supervisory help from Einstein, supposedly got an entire 2000 ton Navy destroyer, and its crew, to travel in time, and to instantaneously jump around from Philadelphia Harbor to where it had previously been docked in Newport News. Some hapless crew members vanished in the process or got physically destroyed in the process.

Today in 2021 the closest thing to time travel that science admits to being able to do is to get subatomic particles to decay more slowly in the Hadron collider than they would normally. But supposedly way back in 1943 we were able to get a 2000 ton ship to travel several days back in time.

If the moon landing were faked it would mean that the government is covering up the fact that we are LESS advanced in technology than the public thinks we are.

If the Philadelphia Experiment had been real it would mean the government is covering up the fact that we are MORE advanced in technology than the public thinks we are.

Are we scandalously primitive? Or are we scandously advanced? Which is it?

I kind of believe that required standardized testing in Texas to graduate is part of one big scheme to make money cooked up by Ross Perot or whatever back in the day.It was before my time but it was horrible having to take all those tests to graduate and move up grade levels.I think it may be a conspiracy.It was very unpleasant for someone in the public schools in small town Texas to take all those mandatory tests esepcially being on the spectrum.I knew people that dropped out because of it.

My mom's second husband completely believed this one, he told it to me as a kid as something that really happened, and it wasn't until years later that I discovered that it was a complete hoax. Last I heard, he's fallen completely down the conspiracy rabbit hole, I'm not sure if he's gone full into Q and such, but he definitely thinks the last election was stolen, among other things. In his defense, he has a degenerative head injury from a roll over crash in the 80s, but I'm not sure if that fully accounts for the conspiracy theories.
