Define "Christ". Do you mean the Lord Jesus Christ in the Bible, or something/someone else?

In this context (the one I posted), "Christ-Like" means kind, loving, good, and giving - a rarity in fundie churches.

More broadly, "Christ" is the English term for the Greek Χριστός (khristos) meaning "the anointed", and was applied as a title not just to the Jew Jesus of Nazareth, but to other allegedly holy prophets and teachers.

"Christ-like" indeed refers to Jesus Christ, founder of Christianity.

Fnord, you are a fundie as well, albeit not the churchgoing kind. Not all churchgoers are fundamentalists, BTW.

And your posts read like smarmy condescendency, so we're even.

Now, about that evidence ... why do you claim that I'm a non-churchie fundie, and that not all churchies are fundies?

My claims are rather self-evident. I refuse to argue this any further.

I agree. I want to see evidence.

This whole thread is silly. An agnostic thinks the atheists are being mean to the Christians and wants them to shut up?

What about the Christians that are mean to the agnostics and atheists?

People confuse the heck out of me.

The pendulum swings both ways. A non-church fundie can be every bit as arrogant, close-minded, and self-righteous as a church fundie. It's a personality type.

No need for such facetiousness, you can't expect to say two words and not take some heat for it. It's fairly common snse really that not all churchoers are fundamentalist, and you don't need a carefully documented census to tell you that.
I'm not gonna say whether or not you're a fundamentalist, but if you're going to spend your entire life waiting for your biological clock to stop ticking, then you can't be disappointed when nothing happens after you die (you'll be dead, for a start). Religion (even agnosticism) at least leave the door open, and to be such a staunch atheist is almost as fundamental (for want of a better word) as the most conservative Christians and Muslims etc.

P.S. Have you seen that South Park where Richard Dawkins and Mrs Garrison turn the whole world atheist? Good stuff. :D

Yes, I am a fan of South Park. :) I love how they make fun of everything and everyone with noseeming bias. I wonder if TP and MS get fan-requests for episode storylines.

People confuse the heck out of me.

if atheists think that christians are arrogants for their belief in God, then atheists would be arrogants as well for claiming something they don't have evidence for it, and it turns out to be a belief system, I would assume, but it depends on the level of atheism I suppose.

if you say God does not exist, then a Christian and an Agnostic could ask you where is the evidence to support such claim.

Atheist: "God does not exist"
Agnostic: "Evidence, please?"

;)

Besides, I kinda agree with Anubis, in the sense that if believing and being a christian makes one happy, then good for them, it is not a bad thing, as long as they leave other people with different beliefs and lifestyles alone.
