How can a Christian also be a Republican?

The blame game continues. Obama was handed a mess; a large amount of the stimulus was spent during the Bush Administration. Obama has not made things much better. Interesting that you are point this out to Inuyasha because Republicans are more likely than Democrats to find fault with their own party's economic policies; despite the fact that a large majority of Americans blame Obama for making things worse. The blame game being played by the Democrats is not gaining them much political traction; they are far better off making a case for their American Jobs Act, something that the majority of Americans are open to supporting. The present Democrat Administration unfortunately plays politics like it is a besieged minority; it is not a good way to develop broad support. They fail to delineate between the situation on the hill and the situation in America.

Actually Obama has made things far worse, and if you look into what caused this fiasco, you would know that it was the Community Reinvestment Act that is the culprit. Sueing Boeing for having a factory in South Carolina for instance, Obamacare, etc.
There are 18 Republican Jobs Bills if I remember correctly that are sitting in the Senate (that have already passed the house), that Harry Reid won't allow up for a vote. Yet Obama wants the Republicans to pass a jobs bill that they haven't even seen yet, we've seen how well things work out when you pass a bill without even bothering to read it.

I'm getting sick of Obama being able to lie and lie and lie, and his 10,000 press secretaries in the media lets him get away with it.

How about you look at inflation, additionally I would like the context of that graph and where it came from because it looks a little fishy, putting it mildly.
And what did those job plans entail? More tax cuts for the rich? Maybe union busting? Oh, and of course job creating policies that Republicans have been fighting for so stridently, such as cutting back on medicare and medicaid, and special education.

1. You probably didn't even know these existed (and they passed with bipartisan support in the House)
2. The fact you're resorting to the standard DNC/Obama playbook to try to scare people is also telling.
3. If you have an I-Pad or whatever they call it that has apps, there is an app that the Republicans made where you can look at the bills they have proposed.

1. Yes, I did know of their existence, and that conservadem turncoats had sided with the Republicans against not only their president and party, but also against their own constituents.
2. Yes, I want to scare people - the Republicans plan to maker the rich richer at the expense of the rest of us is indeed terrifying.

No, the Democrats just set the poor up with home loans that they can't afford and wonder why we had a housing crisis.
Republicans want poor people to get jobs so they can lift themselves up out of poverty, gee what a novel concept.

I seem to remember Bush pushing the idea of poor people buying houses, since in his word, "We're an ownership society." It was hardly just the Democrats. And as I and others have told you again and again, it's the Republicans who have championed banks who have taken advantage of home owners, and foreclosed on them after raising rates and altering loan agreements.
And since when have Democrats ever been against poor people getting jobs? No, the Democrats want poor people to be able to eat and have shelter in the meantime before they can find work.
And yes, the Republicans hold it against the poor if they happen to own something that seems a little expensive or advanced.

He wanted people to own homes that they could afford, to pay for, not homes that they couldn't afford. Bush and Republicans recognized there was a problem years before the housing market imploded and tried to fix things.

If you make over X amount you can be kicked off welfare, even if that amount is not enough to keep you out of poverty, often you can make more money just being on welfare than from having a job. Same is true with Social Security Disability.

And so what do you propose to do about disability and welfare? Put an end to those programs so people on them will have to "pull themselves up by their bootstraps?" Such persons in the past were either burdens on their families, or just died.
And as for Bush - I think you're reading too much into his motives. He was blinded by boneheadedness, the same as the Democrats were.

That's not what I'm saying at all, I just don't think people should be getting punished for getting a job, which is what the program currently does.

Looks more like Barney Frank was making out with his lover whom worked at Freddie Mac and Chris Dodd was getting sweethart loans from Country-Wide.
Unqualified home buyers were not the only ones who benefitted from Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank’s efforts to deregulate Fannie Mae throughout the 1990s.
So did Frank’s partner, a Fannie Mae executive at the forefront of the agency’s push to relax lending restrictions.
Now that Fannie Mae is at the epicenter of a financial meltdown that threatens the U.S. economy, some are raising new questions about Frank's relationship with Herb Moses, who was Fannie’s assistant director for product initiatives. Moses worked at the government-sponsored enterprise from 1991 to 1998, while Frank was on the House Banking Committee, which had jurisdiction over Fannie.

Actually, I'm in 100% agreement with you that people shouldn't be punished for getting work. I think people should be ineligible for such programs only after they can attain a comfortable middle class standing. It should be pointed out , too, that people on government assistance receive medical coupons, without which they would be given no medical help at all. If Americans were given universal medical coverage, that would certainly inspire people with preexisting conditions or families to step out of the social safety net. Unfortunately, conservative elements think that keeping people healthy and living comfortably isn't the government's place.
And as for vilifying Frank and Dodd - sure, they don't exactly come out smelling like roses, but at least they thought they could help poor people. It was the big banks, with Republican support, who were able to take advantage of the cluster f**k that was left to them, and screw tens of thousands of people over.
