And the Zimmerman verdict is...

Notice that this thread is not *about* gun ownership. Wonder why I keep dinging you for ignorance and not doing your due diligence? It might have something to do with the numerous times that I've addressed the fundamental issues pertaining to gun ownership over the 5+ years I've been here, not that you'd care to actually address those, since they contain actual information and arguments and not simplistic pronouncements.
I'm simply unwilling to devote hours of my time anymore rehashing the same things I've patiently and thoroughly explained dozens of times previously every time some new opinionated ignoramus shows up. When it comes to guns, you know less than nothing, misinformation being negative knowledge, and yet you still think that you're fit to argue with guys like myself and Raptor, with collective decades of experience owning and using firearms and the laws surrounding them. If you're unwilling to put in the time to discover what the people you're talking to have previously said on the topic at hand before making false statements about them, than kindly keep your mouth shut. Thank you.

In the 1770s when the British imperial army was liable to attack colonists wanting to secede the call to arms and need for protection was seen as necessary. In the 19th century the need for American colonists to protect themselves from native Americans meant they were supposed to be armed. What exactly are you protecting yourself from in the 21st century? rabid squirrels?
You still are unable (read unwilling) to separate the Declaration of Independence from the Constitution and the intent and purpose of both.

I don't have any buddies here.

Uh huh, like you would have experience to draw on regarding the fundamentals of gun ownership.

does the benefit of owning a weapon outweigh the risks? It's blatantly obvious, more people die from guns at home than are saved by them.
Gee, it just seems not to pan out that way on my planet.

A gun that is (by law) supposed to be securely locked in a gun cabinet is not going to much use when you are fiddling with you keys trying to unlock them by which time the intruders would have already had you in their gun sights.
We're not required to keep all of our guns under lock and key. This is not the land down under, thankfully.

I know how your "type" think because my uncle is a gun nut who enjoys nothing better than shooting kangaroos and other hapless furry animals.
Even more hopeless than I thought.

My uncle also thinks Zimmerman is entitled to wander his neighbourhood with a loaded weapon.
And your uncle would be right. I roam with a loaded weapon, too.

I'm yet to hear any rationale argument that justifies armed vigilantes.
Ah yes, the vigilante charge once again.

I notice you have never made a convincing case for why Zimmerman should be allowed to wander the streets with a loaded weapon. You invoke the US constitution (thank the stars Australians don't have such crazy laws) but can't make a very good case based on ethics, morals or values.
We've made our case for years on the forum using logic that, while simple and factual, goes completely over your heads without fail. I'm not going to rehash it all just for you. Go back and look them up yourself.
This concludes my involvement with you in this thread.
