If Cameron hasn't have called the referendum then UKIP would have had dozens of seats.

That is quite clearly not true. Almost 4m votes got them just 1 seat, just 1.

Because Cameron saying he'd hold a referendum took a lot of votes from UKIP. That's why the Tories won a majority.

As predicted there was no majority in any of the indicative votes tonight, though they take them to Monday to stage 2 to see which could get a majority.

Ken Clarke went close

2nd referendum got more votes than May did for her deal

^I expect that's ant-Mayishness as much as anything; take the time for petty jabs, we've all the time time the world.

Why try to avoid hitting the iceberg when you can fight over who's at the helm when we hit.

I am finding the MV3 shenanigans fascinating at the moment, and we don't even know if there will be an MV3!

Johnson did exactly what Johnson always does and rowed back on everything he said now he thinks he might be PM, and Mogg showing himself up to be the snake that many said he always was (absolutely loving the backlash on him from the no deal fans who are shocked that their poster boy has stabbed them in the back)...and then Arlene Foster pulled the rug from beneath both their feet!

Turning the WA vote into a vote to kick her out will win over the snake types, but they underestimated those on the other side that will now change their mind back to remain as they don't want an ERG type in at no 10.

And what if she somehow gets it across the line without the DUP votes? does that bring an end to the Confidence & Supply Agreement and therefore her working majority? They might not realistically have a choice but to go for a GE in that situation

I rather warmed to Arlene Foster on the beeb this morning (maybe that's a sign of how desperate things have got).

To paraphrase: this will be bad for the Union and we are Unionist Party.

There's something about stating the bleedin' obvious that always impresses me, especially from a politician.

Sounds like they might try and split the political declaration and the WA to get it through a vote

Didn't you accuse Mogg of wanting no deal to benefit himself?

Mogg is a snake and the backlash on him from leavers is hugely entertaining. 7 days ago he said her deal was so bad she should be sacked, now saying he may well vote for it . There is a good reason why he is referred to as 'Remain's useful idiot'.

Quite enjoyed the summing up on Newsnight last night of where we are https://twitter.com/JimMFelton/status/1111406688576241668?s=20

So the non MV3 vote is being held today where the WA & PD are being split out. It legally meets the EU's requirements but doesn't legally meet the UK's requirements, so if the WA part passes today we would need an MV4 for the PD before May 22nd.

It's certainly expected to be much closer than MV2. The AG on his feet appealing to his own party right now to vote for it.

I hope it fails. I think splitting them to make it a non MV3 on the WA then using it as an actual MV3 afterwards is a very deceitful way of going about all this. I know there is very little honour in politics but at the very least just be truthful about what you are asking people to vote on
