Those people would do well to drop all of that and re-consider what had first been said ...

"If Elohim is for us, who is against us (with any real effect of any kind)?" (Romans 8:31)

Possibly so. I once hear someone say "www = 666" ... and that would make the 'net Satan's very own playground!

"The unexamined faith is not worth believing", eh? I nearly got kicked out of Seminary for using that quote as an essay title...

You went to catholic school? That might explain your agressive antitheism stance

I think I understand that statement and agree, but I do not know why you have made it.

Might you elaborate a bit in relation to something I must have said or done?

As you obviously know, a given rhetoric or dogma had only been willing to allow you either of only two options!

Nice response.

Two options are better then no option at all. Ok next time I'll give three options

Anti-Christianity is not anti-Christian.
Ethical and scientific scoffing is not "bashing".

Irritating though they might be, when a few people from the right debate liberalism in this forum,
you don't see leftists whining about liberal "bashing"-
they rebut!

Such as having arrived at one's own conclusion without being subject to any canned rhetoric or dogma?!

I do need an new can opener  That's the reason why am asking for a balanced view from both sides before making a conlusion. I love it if people could use the 'canned rhetoric' to add to there arguments against my points.

No its not anti-christian

But there are far too many times members of christian faith try and ram home their beliefs on others in the mainstream forums. when that happens it pisses a lot of people off, me included.

Then we end up with ridiculous topics like this because when the majority of members in mainstream threads ask a bible thumper to please desist they just ramp up their thumping.
And then we have to get a mod in to get the bible thumper who is now in a frenzy out so the thread can continue. Happens far too often for many members liking.

If members of christian faith show a LOT more consideration to non-christian members, then we dont have a problem.....

You bet, but "vested interests" are sometimes just about all some of us have ...

... and we sometimes still like/need/want/wish to cling to them in spite of anything.

Ok? Honestly, there are too many belief systems and too much information out there to be meaningfully informed without using 2nd hand information, so I dismiss your claim as ridiculous. Everybody uses second hand information, the mainstream christian Bible is second hand information derived from the effort of countless scholars, so... I stop seeing the point here other than some naive attitude towards knowledge.

very true, only thos who hold "vested interests" have the choice to keep or change then or another option.

To tell you the truth good sir, I feel its now I sit out from the topic as I get the feeling that ill feelings from all sides might come to the surface. Its good to have a health debate tho when emotions are involved then things might get out of hand.
I have no wish for disharmony plus I have no wish to offend anyone. If I have offeneded anyone then I am sorry.

Good day & peace to you all. :D

I think the dilemma there comes about when I think or feel someone should first study something like I happen to have done. But then on the other hand, it gets frustrating when people have only heard second-hand information and yet insist I am wrong when I show the actual fact of a given matter and offer clear documentation. My biggest example of that is related to today's "AA" versus the original "A.A." and is not at all relevant here, but that matter of second-hand public opinion versus the actual facts is certainly not limited to there.

I hope I have not made you uncomfortable in any way. The OP had asked about WP possibly being an "anti-christian" site, and it has since been made apparent WP is instead simply not a "pro-christian" site. However, there are still "anti-christian" people here as well as "pro-christian" members, and now we are all simply talking about the kinds of things that so typically take place within this/that kind of setting.

Having been here on WP for now well over a year, I can tell you PPR is presently far more of a friendly place than when I first got here ...

... and of course, who but I could take the credit for that, eh?!

Yeah, right. 8)

I think religion and politics will always cause some sort of issues when discussed, and WP is no exception. My policy is that I neither confirm nor condemn anyone else' beliefs, and I really don't care. If it makes them happy, that's fine by me.

Personally, I'm an Agnostic. Not exactly an atheist, as I believe in a supreme intelligence or a master plan, but I also cannot quite go along with any existing faith. But again, nobody's wrong in my opinion.
