As a Christian I would definitely say there is a dark side of the spirit world. Is magic(k) real? I don't know. God definitely has an Adversary here on Earth, and that Adversary, along with his fallen angels, his minions, can wreak all kinds of warfare on the human race. It's what they do.

proof? any proof at all? you even have proof of a spiritual world rather less proof that there's a "dark side"?

come on, you drive a car, quit holding the superstitions of primates.

Primates do not have superstitions. Their world is completely literal.

your world is literal too....everyone's world is literal. you just a bunch of spiritual crap to describe it rather than empirical fact. the other stuff that isn't used to describe your active reality is just a hobby to take up your time.

i can think more abstractly than you, the difference is that the models and constructs in my mind are much more complicated and much more drawn out. all you can manage is a bad 14th century fantasy novel.

I know, I really wanted it to fit, but it didn't. The semantics were slightly off, you don't argue against your own point.

he's a devil's advocate. if you observe the world around you and study it, you find no evidence of what he claims. however, he plays the devil's advocate against evidence and fact. the "well, what if god is real".

If I were truly a medievalist, I would reject science and view the world through a purely religious lens. I would assume the Sun revolves around the Earth and ignore anyone who says otherwise. I'd think blood-letting and trepannig were cutting-edge medicine.

I think faith is beyond fact and evidence. After years of being a hard-and-fast seeing-is-believing-type, I realized that this is essentially bad for my emotions and well-being. There are many things that are true, if you believe them to be. I retract my former statement about devil's advocacy. You would have to intend to be a devils advocate to be one.
