I suspect it's having the right connections, money and sweet talking.

Truss is a people pleaser. Her politics up to this point have always been “I agree with the leader”, and now (like most of the candidates) she’s just saying what she thinks the voters want to hear.

Sunak and Truss won't want to face Mourdant in the final.

just got to hope that if one of them knows they are already into the final 2 that they 'lend' some votes to the other so they face each other and not Mourdant

They all seem awful to me, but at least we're getting rid of the clown who doesn't make sense and looks like he's been dragged through a hedge backwards. He's made Britain a laughing stock, along with his cronies.

Oh btw apparently they want Johnson to be the special envoy or something to Ukraine after he leaves. I actually think that's a good idea, as he and Zelensky get on well. Either that or Johnson will make it all worse and Zelensky will realise he's been used.

Mordaunt is bookies favourite at the moment.

Mordaunt only 18 behind Sunak in the top 2. She is closing the gap.

Badenoch has gained 9 votes so it's not over for her. At the moment she still has a chance to gain further votes in Mondays round. I mean it could go either way there for her but I don't think she will pull out of the race just yet.

The same for Truss. It's Mondays results that will be more telling though but as it stands it does look like it will be Sunak and Mordaunt fighting it out but you can't take anything for granted. We might see some twists.

Tugendhat and his supporters must be blinded by unrealistic optimism to say that he's still in with a chance.

Mordaunt sounds like a good name for a Harry Potter villain.
