The president has displayed more than enough evidence confirming his American birth. If he wasn't born in the United States, I doubt he'd have the evidence he has shown.

Even if he did show his birth certificate there would just be more [stupid, petty & childish] questions raised, they aren't interested in any real answers, just maintaining the controversy for media publicity. Maybe so, but there is an interesting new dynamic here in the Tea Party and it's rallies. Ironically enough, much of their playbook has been copied from the left-wing anti-war movement, and having been to a few of those protests I'd include the hysteria in that package. It's sort of part and parcel with rallying a base, you've got to get them worked up, and some people will inevitably go too far with it. Look at some of the footage from Obama's campaign rallies in 08 (or Hillary's for that matter) and tell me you don't see any hysteria there either.

I have not seen any hysteria on Obama's supporters part, myself.

Maybe not recently, I mean the guy has been pretty disappointing all around (I say that as someone who voted for him BTW), but there is a reason that a common attack on him has been calling him "the messiah" or the "chosen one". I'll see if I can dig up a representative clip, as I Seattle resident I can attest to the hysteria having seen it in person on a number of occasions.

You are right. And guess what? Because of the power invested in the POTUS, he (and all of them) would be checked out by congress, the secret service, the CIA, FBI and dog knows what other gubermint groups. Do you really think the military lets him have nuke codes if they are not damn sure of his nationality, his loyalties and his character? He would have been quietly bounced back in the democratic leadership nominations if he was at all questionable.

So the job offer obviously asked, and they liked the answer they found. Now its just you asking for a birth certificate, and guess what? You are just some dude on the street, so if he laughs in your face and says no, then suck it up buttercup.

So give it a rest already.

Yes, I actually could produce the documentation to prove my citizenship, I actually had to provide that information to get.

1. First a learner's permit
2. State ID
3. Learner's Permit again
4. Driver's license (finally)

I also had to provide that information to get hired at my part-time job (granted I didn't need my birth certificate). I also needed the documentation in question for my internship at Goddard Space Flight Center. So in all honesty, what the "birthers" are asking for is perfectly reasonable.

some times we keep things to ourselves just so that it does not distract from the common ground
take for instance myself I believe it is perfectly reasonable to shoot a cop if he enters your home unannounced but
I don't bring that up when discussing land reform in china.

All proof of birth (indicating when, where and to-whom born) are doctor's records or midwife recors. A birth certificate is based on the prior. The mother's sworn and unimpeachable testimony is quite sufficient.
