Most of the land area in New York State is conservative.

But most of the population is liberal.

Rather like the United States, where if only land area was considered, it would be a 75% conservative country, at least.

But in its population, its about 50/50.

True of Illinois as well.

That makes sense. I've been told that by people I've met from New York.

It's kinda funny how many people seem to picture New York City when they think of the state of New York not realizing that there's more to your state than the big city parts.

Just like in Georgia people think it's nothing but backwoods, cotton fields, and rednecks but you have cities like Atlanta and Savannah which are both like New York City in a way because they are very progressive cities in the south.

Atlanta is probably just as cosmopolitan in many ways as New York City.

To put things in perspective, New York City has about 300 square miles,
The rest of New York State has about 54,000 square miles.

New York City's population is about 8.8 million
The rest of the state's population is about 11 million.

You are missing the point.

I have no problem with people hating Trump.
I have a problem with people disrespecting the Truth.

The majority may identify with red or blue, but there would be a significant number, in the same state, who don't, at times.
The binary that states are completely red or blue is invalid, obviously.

But there are plenty more of him downplaying the virus, and making stupid comments about "Kung flu", the "China virus" and the "Wuhan virus".

That's exactly what I wanted to say about this, but unfortunately I was too triggered and in rage mode last night.

Trump has said some very nasty things about Chinese people because of this coronavirus which had the domino effect of encouraging anti-Asian violence and hatred throughout the US (just like when he was accusing Hispanics of being 'murderers and rapists').

But of course his supporters will always deny this and then somehow deflect it by accusing the Democrats of being the 'real racists'.

So I only have one question. Where exactly will our country be 10 years from now?

The Chinese have a surveillence heavey population control . The goals there was to convince the masses there that this and various other methods of population control are actually good for the citizens . Keep them safe . Get whatever civil services including medical from the government that they wish to make,available to those in favour with the government.
Little by little it is the same intention of our government here , in the long run i feel.
People who dissent or are resistors, will be selected out and not offered or have available to them the same civil rights as those who do follow the government logic/ propaganda. As a physically handicapped person with autism , i have seen this first hand. Over the last ten years of my life . Including attempts by the powers that be to put me into repeated situations, where their intent was to cause me to have a criminal record At least once. Unsuccessfully i might add.

-The ccp told Trump the virus would die out in the summer.
-The ccp allowed infected workers and tourists to travel around the world.
-While the lie was being told, the ccp ransacked the world of PPE.
-Evidence and reason heavily suggests the virus was manmade.
-Initial beliefs by epidemiologists, was that the virus was not a naturally occurring phenomenon.
-Politics interfered with that speculation.
-Evidence and reason heavily suggests it escaped the Wuhan lab.
-Suggestions that the virus was manmade was censored by big business media outlets.
-The prevailing scientific belief these days is that the virus was, indeed, manmade.
-The deniers have egg on their faces.
-The ccp purged data or hid information about the research of the coronavirus at the "Corona Virus Research Lab".
-Chinese doctors who were trying to warn the world disappeared, were silenced or found dead.

The ccp has a lot to answer for, but they will probably get away with it.
"Might makes right", after all.

Trump is a politician and does what politicians do on either side of the political divide, the dirty filthy bastardos.
The Democrats perverted the investigation of the origins of the Wuhan virus because they wanted to win the election, imo.
Outrageous and indefensible, if True.
Both political parties acted despicably.

My understanding is that you are part Asian.
Also, my understanding is that you embrace the progressive ideology.
If this is correct, this may be influencing your point of view.
Understandable, but the emphasis should be on the Truth, rather than subjective emotionalism and blindly following a political narrative that actually changed when the orange man was out of the equation.

Intelligent people are cynical/skeptical/open-minded people when it comes to politics.
Kritical thinking trumps groupthink.
