I think you just decided that I was calling you "dangerous" by pulling thoughts out of your ass. So, once more with feeling... Claiming things long after the whole world knew that it was nothing but dust and BS. Now I think about it, its a very common failing.

It doesn't look like I'm the one ranting here.

I do apologise. Your incessant and frighteningly inevitable ability to grasp exactly the wrong point about a post gives me a headache. If you HAD any power to abuse, you probably WOULD be dangerous.

Media Matters founder David Brock appeared on Hardball and revealed to Chris Matthews his allegation that “Glenn Beck himself has been responsible for three thwarted assassination attempts this year.” Brock listed three occurrences where a crazed assassin targeted a liberal politician or institution, and where evidence later emerged that the assassin may have been a viewer of Beck’s show.

Matthews just nodded in astonishment, not questioning whether such tangential evidence truly would establish Beck as somehow “responsible” for each assassination attempt. Ron Reagan was slightly less inflammatory with his criticism of Beck, merely asserting that Beck, “constantly refers to political opponents on the left as traitors, treasonous, Marxists, fascists, Nazis, [and saying] we’ve got to do something about it, we may have to take to the street. You can see that as entertainment, but some people like Mr. Loughner are not going to see that as entertainment, they are going to take it seriously. . . . We all expected something like this, awful like this, was going to happen and it did.”

In a discussion about toning down the rhetoric on both sides, it seems as if the founder of Media Matters and Ron Reagan may have missed the memo.

Watch the clip from MSNBC below:

Check the link for the actual video clips, I don't feel any need to comment myself.

I'm sorry, but I'm sick of people on the right defending Beck merely because he is "on your side". I don't see anything wrong with David Brock's statements regarding Glenn Beck. Glenn Beck clearly has singularly influenced the three shooters he mentioned. Also, Glenn Back does constantly refer to his political opponents as Marxists and fascists. He also insinuates bogus motives to people and organizations on the left, even going so far as to compare Obama to Lucifer. He's not content just to disagree with policy, he must stoke irrational fear and fill gullible people's heads with unfounded distrust and paranoia.

Nobody is saying we want the government to forcibly silence him or charge him with inciting murder. We merely would like the freedom to point out that the guy really is a f***ing a**hole and that he does clearly influence violent people. The world is not black-and-white as conservatives like to see it. There are degrees of responsibility, and people like Glenn Beck clearly bear some in the cases mentioned responsibility.

@ Orwell

He didn't come out and say it explicitly but it is implied.

You do realize you just proved my statement to be true, cause the facts do not support the left's claims on this issue.

Sad thing is it seems to be the new norm for Democrats.

Yes, well, enter yet another stupid media poll. (h/t Hotair) This time, CNN discovers that, essentially, 56 percent of Democrats think that Sarah Palin was responsible for certifiably insane Jared Loughner’s shooting spree.

I mean seriously, this is just sad and I'm hoping CNN screwed up on their polling.

There is actually a lot more of a rational basis for the secret muslim claim compared to the blaming Sarah Palin for the Arizona shooting.

For starters because his father was born a Muslim, under Islamic Law he is a muslim. Converting from Islam is punishable by death, yet I haven't seen any muslim fanatics out to kill Obama or publicly calling for his head mounted on a pike (I'm being quite literal). Quite frankly I'm not sure what Ideology he is and if it wasn't for the fact it is perfectly okay to give false oaths to nonmuslims I would think this is a nonissue. So the Obama is a muslim argument at least has some rational basis for it.

How was the poll question worded? If it was something along the lines of "do you believe that rhetoric from people such as Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck could have influnced Jared Loughner's behavior", I guarantee you that you could get a very large number of yes votes. If the question is more something like "Do you believe Sarah Palin is directly responsible for the actions of Jared Loughner," then you'll most likely see drastically lower numbers. Republicans are great at this bullshitting game. They do such polls as I said above then misrepresent the findings and how the questions were presented to the people polled. Hell, they even regularly have one such pollster spin artist regularly on Fox News (f**k YOU FRANK LUNTZ!*).

skafather84, well thing is the nutcase in question apparently didn't pay attention to politics and plotting to kill the Representative back in 2007. How would Beck (whom was I think still at CNN) and Palin (whom wasn't even known outside Alaska) have influenced this nut? The facts show that he wasn't influenced by Beck or Palin at all cause he didn't even pay attention to news or talk radio.

Also, to debunk your entire argument, the poll wasn't conducted by Fox News, the poll was conducted by CNN.

Inuyasha, you know nothing about Islam. Obama claims to be a Christian; under Islamic law this alone disqualifies him from being Muslim. Denying Islam would get him labeled a kafir, roughly meaning "one who covers up" (in context in the Qur'an, this word has terrible connotations) and is the worst sin a Muslim can possibly commit.

Furthermore, acceptance of the Islamic faith requires a public pronouncement of belief in Allah and the Prophet Muhammed through the Shahada. If Obama has not publicly spoken the words "lā ʾilāha ʾillallāh, Muḥammad rasūlu-llāh," then he is not a Muslim. End of story.

First his father was Muslim so under Islamic law he is supposed to be Muslim. I'm not saying that he is or is not muslim. I'm just pointing out that little tidbit.

Nope. He's not a Muslim until he has recited the Shahada. Besides that, he has professed a belief in Christianity, which, according to Islam, means he has committed the sin of shirk (associating partners with God) and has a special level of hell reserved for him.

This is not an issue that can sanely be disputed. Obama is not a Muslim. You can argue about whether he is really a sincere Christian or just claiming to be for political expedience, but one thing here is certain: he is not Muslim.

I don't buy the secret Muslim stuff either but I do think it's possible he was nominally raised Muslim. His father and step-father both were pretty much non-religious but were "Muslim". It doesn't really matter though.

Now the birthers on the other hand...

He was raised primarily by his lilly-white Midwestern mother and attended a Catholic school when he was young.

The birther conspiracy is also disturbingly common among the Republican base.

I don't understand the bizarre need to make things up about your ideological enemies. Communism does not involve a totalitarian government, Obama is not a foreign-born Muslim, the health care bill had no death panels. All three of those things can be criticized perfectly rationally without resorting to conspiratorial fantasies.

False, he attended school in Indonesia.

Allegations that Sen. Barack Obama was educated in a radical Muslim school known as a "madrassa" are not accurate, according to CNN reporting.

Insight Magazine, which is owned by the same company as The Washington Times, reported on its Web site last week that associates of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-New York, had unearthed information the Illinois Democrat and likely presidential candidate attended a Muslim religious school known for teaching the most fundamentalist form of Islam.

Obama lived in Indonesia as a child, from 1967 to 1971, with his mother and stepfather and has acknowledged attending a Muslim school, but an aide said it was not a madrassa.

http://articles.cnn.com/2007-01-22/poli ... M:POLITICS

As to how radical said school was, is subject to debate.

Orwell wrote:

The birther conspiracy theory was started by Democrats supporting Hillary Clinton. Republicans started to get curious after all the fighting about his birth certificate. Frankly, it is a nonissue, because his mother was a US citizen, thus he's technically naturally born.

We have yet to see a Communist Government not end up being totalitarian.

Obama's mother is a US citizen heck his mom was born a US citizen so that in my view is a nonissue. His religion may be an issue only from a standpoint that it is supposedly completely acceptable to give false oaths to nonmuslims.

Your statement about Death Panels not being in Obamacare is false, btw. They are going to try to cut costs in manners that would fit the statement that they are death panels.

The leftist media conspiring to get Obama elected was supposedly a fantasy, well Journ'O'list proved that to be conspiracy fact.

Is Obama a Muslim? TRICK QUESTION, IT DOESN'T MATTER!

The only reason anyone cares about Obama's religion is because a lot of people on the right think all Muslims are TERRISTS WHO HATE 'MERICA AND FREEDOM.

Wasn't his religion listed as Muslim at that Catholic school tho? He also went to a public school there where they had to study the Quran too. I know he said he use to go to mosque or whatever with his step-father. Like I said tho, doesn't matter, and I don't think he was raised very religiously and I don't think he is a Muslim now.

The birther stuff is interesting. Hawaii's new governor promised to produce the long-form birth certificate but apparently they haven't been able to find it. I just don't understand why it hasn't been released unless they're hiding something or they want the rumor to persist for some reason.

Actually it has more to do with the fact his oath of office may be meaningless because it was not on a Quran swearing to Allah, and also was giving an oath to "infidels," meaning he can break it at any time and it is considered acceptable (assuming he is Muslim).

Then where are the Islamic Fanatics calling for Obama's head. To leave the Islamic Religion is literally signing your own death sentence.
