It's happened before. The Sun backed Blair in 1997. Why should Murdoch oppose a party that won't increase his taxes? Still, the Mail and the Express are remaining loyal to the Tories.

They like to be able to say "it wuz the Sun wot wun it", and it's pretty clear backing the Tories won't give 'em that! Reminds me of the X-Men character Isca the Unbeaten, who can never lose a fight but haaaaas been known to switch sides mid-battle. (Only Isca is infinitely cooler.)

I too voted hard today. Well, mainly I was relieved they accepted my expired passport as ID.

All these paps waiting to photograph important MPs when they go and vote. Who cares?

If I was an important MP, I'd string them along all day. "Yeah...I'll do it in a minute.", "Yeah, I'll get to it, I'm just going to do the crossword." Head out the door and have someone call my phone, "Sorry lads, I've got to take this...", then reveal I'd already voted by post at 9.58pm. That would be fun.

I don't mind people who don't share the same political views as myself but the thought of the likes of Farage having a voice in government absolutely scares the s**t out of me

He is a disgusting human being

Only 8 hours now till the BBC exit poll comes out. Hopefully it will be positive for Labour and then we can all kick back and enjoy the show as the tories go down like dominoes. :D

Tories in 2010:

We'll cut the deficit, not the NHS. FAIL
We'll get net immigration down to <100,000 FAIL
We're all in this together. FAIL

BOLLOCKS

Roughly 72% of my life has been lived under Conservative governments.

The only time I can remember feeling positive about the direction of the country was under Labour in the late 90s/early 2000s.

Of course this coincides with my late teenage years, gaining a bit of independence, being able to drive, leaving home, getting my own money - all that good stuff.

It's hard to know how much of those good vibes were Labour, and how much was just being young and relatively carefree.

I think older people, who do remember the Labour governments of the 70s find it difficult to understand why younger people aren't scared of Labour being in power.

I think it's going to be really interesting.

Just voted, and it felt surprisingly good - like sticking a knife into the Tory party.

Those bastards have forfeit any right to form a government.
The party of low taxation, giving us the highest tax burden since the 1940's - and yet they still bang on about reducing taxes like the last 14 years didn't happen.

Offloading Covid patients into care homes without testing - at the time my family ran several; the deaths directly caused and the smack in the face this gave to the grief-stricken relatives - denied the chance to say goodbye - were completely horrifying.

That f*****g incompetent idiot Johnson, lying his way through a job like he'd always done - taken to a new low by lying to the Queen and to Parliament. I'll never forget that image of the Queen, sitting all alone in the choir stalls according to the distancing rules, at her husband's funeral - yet Tories were having one of many parties that same evening.
And they still drag Johnson out to make a pro-Sunak speech.

Brexit? None of them have the balls to confront the dumpster fire that turned into, to the surprise of no-one who said it was a crap deal.

But still, ya gotta laugh at the lies and hysteria of the usual suspects in the media - this, for example.
I expect they swear at old ladies and kick puppies too.
