Trump Derangement Syndrome
Speaking just for myself, it's been a relatively new development to actually have anything done about the rampant conservative bashing that's gone on here for years, and I'm having a hard time switching from a war footing mentality that views mocking liberals as justified counter-punching. I wish I knew how to just reset my own experience and resentment, but that's been a slow and difficult project.

Hey, Adamantium. I feel like I stand up against all kinds of unfair attacks, unless they are really funny. The attacks you leveled against me recently weren't particularly funny, sorry.
I hope you don't mean to lump me in to your group. I might tolerate more unfair criticism of people on the left than I do of people on the right, but the people on the left are my friends while the people on the right are my family. I think my friends can take a joke better than my family. True, my family more often tells my friends that they can't take a joke, but my friends bite their tongues more often and I'm glad they don't make those obvious jokes. My family would not take them well.
So if I speak out more often against unfair criticism of people on the right than on the left, I have reasoned and consistent principles on which I do so.

From what I heard, she spoke to him first by asking the man if he was there to protest the inauguration.
When the man replied that he was there to "celebrate America", she went on a tirade.
if that man had any sensitivity at all, he would have told the woman something along the lines of "I don't discuss politics with strangers or in mixed company," and left her to her own devices.
...What does : PPR : mean in this context ? I
A search found me no answer .

In certain corners, justice and fairness are really only concerns when they align with team goals, it seems.
Since turnabout is fair play...
I wish the Right would make up it's mind.
Dissent is...
2001-2009: TREASON!
2009-2017: The only defense against Tyranny and the anti-Christ. The duty of every patriot.
2017 -: TREASON!
Yours was the third post in a row to point the finger right back at the "right", though it was arguably the least subtle
I think there are more than adequate checks and balances on PPR at the moment, though there have definitely been times that was not the case.[/quote]

I can see how that would be. Given current events, it seems likely that political discussions will remain charged for some time.
No attack intended, nor any mockery.
No, those comments were not about you but a general situation on these forums.

And it hasn't just been conservative bashing. Other types of intolerance have been ignored (and in many cases had their apologists) due to a "leftist" bias.
I certainly wouldn't agree with anyone who believes there's been an over-correction... yet.

Are you Trumps personal ultra-partisan hack? Maybe people don't like trump because he has proven himself to have the personality of a bully. I forget you conservatives like bullies.
...Thank you . I thought that it was meant in a Washington context , now I see you were referrring to this PPR forum .

the nazis weren't actually socialist, they tried to take a third position in between that and hard capitalism at times.
That's not my point. My point was, if any candidate is comparable to Hitler, it's Bernie.
Um. The defining aspect of the Nazi party was extreme nationalism. Who campaigned on a more nationalistic platform? Trump or Sanders?
I'm not one to compare Trump to Hitler, but making a comparison by homing in on one word, "socialism", is idiotic. Socialism is a vague term. Nobody can even agree on what it means. I'd advocate throwing it to the dust bin.
Why do you believe working for money is the only way a person can contribute?

A lot of people have to do jobs they don't like doing. - me for one. Demoralized? A person does what they have to. I'm famed depressed right now myself. I'd like to get this SSI and stop doing my highly pressured job and do something I'd like to do, but I'm a realist and I have bills to pay. I try to fix my own depression by not taking drugs, stopping alcohol, and whatever else I can think of. That's why I don't socialize and just go to work because that all the energy I can muster. My job and school wear me out. But like Mr. R., I still pull myself out of bed and keep going because I have to.
You have very mild depression. You have no f*****g idea what severe depression is like.
This thread has (earlier) attracted posts from a (conservative) sock puppet posting under two different usernames and is now deteriorating into personal nastiness between two genuine members in the form of tit for tat backbiting. Time for a halt. The sock puppets won't be contributing further on WP.

I just heard a business analyst make a really good point. Trump has the right idea but the wrong target. Mexicans are taking jobs that Americans don't even want, and the people who are taking the jobs that Americans do want are the damn robots. Deport all the Robots!

I'm not sure about the jobs Americans don't even want argument I've heard several times. I mean were theses jobs only designed for Mexicans* to do? Have they always only been done by Mexicans?
Are we sure the thousands of impoverished unemployed homeless Americans don't want/need these jobs?
I agree. Mechanization in many cases is as bad as outsourcing. A way for CEO's to get rich by depriving others of a livelihood. I can see Trump clamping down on it.
*Note: I'm talking about Mexicans (or any illegal immigrants for that matter), not Mexican Americans.
