If Labour could pick any of them to be up against as PM it would be Truss, and I think it looks now like she will get it. She is absolutely awful. She is a robotic, wooden character who can't deviate from a script.

I think she would give a huge boost to Labour in a GE

Shhh don't tell them. lol.

People look after their own when the chips are down, and the kind of voluntary solidarity it would take to have an effect is hard to maintain because it's so prone to betrayal by dishonest individuals. But the recent bye-elections had a huge effect. People hate to see politicians behaving as if they're above the law. It's strange how inequality of that kind can provoke such a backlash while other kinds get tacitly ignored. Same principle - disgust at some bigwigs having what they're prosecuting everybody else for.

And that's what the Tories bank on. They've made everyday life so flipping hard that people don't have time or energy to fight injustice. They are so bloody clever. Very cynical and manipulative, just so they stay in power through the back door.

I don't think they'll survive for much longer. One of the "quality" Tory papers was saying after May got kicked out that there was nobody left who was electable, then the Tories tried Little Trump, which flew for a while and then crashed and burned so they sacked him. The Express lamented "What the hell have they done?" - presumably because the owner of the Express knows the Tories have run out of electable leaders, though as Boris is no longer electable either I don't quite understand their point. Maybe they were clutching onto the hope that the scandals would blow over and Boris would be able to hypnotise the public again in a couple of years' time.

The only trouble is that even when the Tories are removed, the alternatives are barely any better. Labour under Starmer isn't so unlike the Tory Party, and the Liberals are somewhere between the two. The only good government is one that's terrified of losing popularity and desperate to buy the votes of the masses by giving out a bit more money. And we've got that now.

I hope you're right. There is no one electable now. I don't know who half the Cabinet even is anymore.

Labour needs a kick up the arse. They have had so many golden opportunities to shine. They should find a strong message people can get behind e.g. 'We'll fix the NHS so it works for everyone.' But they don't take these opportunities.

The Lib Dems are the same, really.

I think Corbyn was the last chance saloon for socialism. Whether or not he'd have done what it said on his tin is unknown, but nobody else up there seems even interested in redistribution. Frankly I don't even know if trying to implement socialism through Parliament in the UK could work without a huge mandate. The ruling class are too strong. I gather there's a school of thought called impossibilism that says it can't be done little-by-little, and that short of a very ugly revolution it'll never happen. I hope they're wrong, but I wish I knew they were.

Yes, too many people see socialism as 'taking other people's money' now.

If only voting was mandatory and done at the weekend. Then we'd see what people really think instead of just 38% of us.

Surely Nadine Dorries is a teenager, I've thought that for a while.

Watch Nadine Dorries repeatedly shout 'you're boring' at Keir Starmer

We'd get sacked wouldn't we! So childish and immature. The HoC is full of rude adolescents, it needs modernising and rebooting. The number of times they have laughed and jeered about people struggling with the cost of living. Disgusting.

Dorries is a teenager, all her interviews show it. And remember that 'rap' she did about online safety? OMG

I can't wait until these dinosaurs in the house of commons are well and truly extinct.

I doubt very much he'll be back. He's more likely to go to the states and become a celebrity there.

Dumb and Dumber.

Gosh I hope he'll piss off to America. They can deal with him. He can run for President, OMG!

I suspect Murihiku was making a pun? I'm not sure.
