I can gaurantee there's no food shortages on this planet..

as for the machines, I think that's a pretty unecessary step in order to stop slavery.. we don't need more machines, we need less machines, and we need less slavery, period. You make it seem as if people have worked 8 hours a day for someone else for centuries.. it hasn't been that way my friend. We could all work 4 hours a day for ourselves, own a hemp field, and harvest it for clothing, or medicine, or plastic, or paper, or construction.. please, the list goes on. Why not respect mother nature instead of treating it as though we don't need it..

I made no reference of a food shortage though I have read, heard, etc, that there are many people starving to death. I dont believe I make anything seem like anything. This sounds similar to someone saying, "You make me feel -------", when in actuality, humans are able to control their own emotional state. I do believe however that humanity has been enslaved for millenia. Slaves to our selves and others. This is why it seems a high percentage of people utilize the term "work for" rather than "work with", without even realizing the deeper meaning of what they are saying. I definitely agree that everyone should retain their right to grow hemp for what ever purpose suits them. I respect nature fully and I believe evolution to be a natural process. Automated systems are a tool to modern society as a stone hammer and fire was to our ancestors. Some would argue that the most productive form of enslavement is the kind that the enslaved are unaware of. I do not condone slavery and when/if machines we develop become sentient I do not think they should be enslaved either.

Nonsense! The more machines we have, and the greater diversity of them there is, that means machines will take over menial jobs done by humans. If there are fewer machines, SOMEONE is gonna have to those jobs and that means certain people will be forced to do them! BTW ShawnWilliam, slavery did NOT originate with civilization! There were Puh-Len-Ty of tribes which enslaved other tribes-particularly in West Africa and EVEN in the pre-columbian america's(such as the Tlingit and many of the coastal Salish tribes).

I am not talking about enslaving 'machines'.. i'm talking about not being slaves in general, but my contempt for machines is plain and simple.. firstly we are not slaves to ourselves.. you may not have heard of this government that sets all the rules for us.. you are right, we are unaware of our own slavery and that is truly why it is more effective. We are only slaves so long as we co-operate.. but i do NOT want to co-operate with these people who make machines, because they are the ones who enslave us in the first place.. seriously, taking on a high-[rpfile role like that = working very closely with elite government... machines is not the answer... respecting nature and all it has to offer, but this seems to be so censored.. as if nature is dieing, and we are resorting to machines, this is bogus.. it's not too late to smell the fresh air before it disapears for good.. (im not referring to global warming)

yes, people around the world are starving, but that does NOT mean there isn't food around to feed them... we have the ability and crops to feed the entire world as much as we want, but in order to not only reduce the worlds population, but start giving a major sense of crisis, they are deprived by the wealthy.. and already at some grocery stores they put 'limits' on food... I fucking hate mass produced products... we think it's 'ohh so great!' but if they dont produce it, we cant have it.. not to mention it's killing us.. nature nature nature.. fuck machines.

alright firstly i don't REALLY give a s**t when enslavery started, because one thing can originate in two different places... the problem with this version is we are slaves without knowing it.

Now, your idea only works on paper.. you think we need machines to take over our jobs, and then what?.. what are we going to eat.. all factory food?.. we wont even remember what our names are, or that nature has all the answers, not machines, or that we SHOULD be working towards the better of mankind, and realize we need to go backwards to a more natural world.. machines are a cowardly way out.. we need to live live live alongside nature, quit destroying it and quit abandoning it for a compromised living condition.. there will never be a machine culture self sustaining enough, we will NEVER be relieved of anything.. and this could of course only work in a one world equality government.. give me a fucking break.

do you honestly think the first thing they will do with machines is relieve us of our duties?.. you must be dreaming, cause seriously, with the people who run this world, they will be used in the military before they are EVER used to help us, to any degree worth doing, other than scan the chips implanted in our shoulders as we walk through some metal detector and punch in for work.. you forget we are slaves because they made us slaves, and they will keep it this way.

There are certain major natural forces such as the atmosphere and water supply and the general cleanliness of the Earth that we have to be careful about but nature per se is neither good nor bad. It was natural for huge plagues to wipe out large numbers of people. It was natural that transportation and communication was so bad that most people did stupid things to stay alive and fought other people for limited supplies. Machines in themselves are neither good nor bad. It depends upon how we use them. If we use them well we benefit tremendously.

The problem with machines is who is in control of them.. as I've said, they will not be used for the better of mankind, because the ones funded to make these machines are hired by the government and what do you think they will use them for?.. no matter what you THINK they can do for us, they can also harm us and our world, therefore it's a terrible idea.

yeah, there have been plagues, natural disasters.... so fucking what?.. we still have buildings to hide in.. I don't think we should live in mud huts by rivers

"Well being" is a relative determination. I also do not prefer an estimated lifespan of 20 something. If you find technology and machinery to be contemptuous perhaps you should dispose of the computer you are utilizing to voice your opinions. After that you could disconnect the power line from your residence considering that electricity is mostly utilized for mechanical systems. You will probably miss clean water and sewage disposal though. Im unaware if you drive or not, though you should probably take off the shoes which were "manufactured" and go barefoot. Be careful not to step on anything though Some antibiotics are known to be produced naturaly though not all.

And how is that so? We need MORE than just the earth for our survival in moderns times. Machines have made our lives much longer, happier, and easier and coupled with modern values have given us freedom that even our stone-age ancestors never could have imagined.

I agree with your sentiments Haliphron. When you say "How is that so?" Are you quandering how it came to be or are you inquiring as to what components of the Earth exhibit properties that would fit the description of a mechanical system?
