The problem isn't so much insurance as the ridiculous prices, there is no reason for I believe the vast majority of medical care in this country to cost as much as it does and I believe there should be more people allowed to practice medicine and be healers than are presently allowed. We talk about all these catastrophic life altering things which understandably cost a lot of money but we are being pilfered on everything else. Over regulation is a huge problem and it kills competition which leads to price gouging. Obamacare is a massive massive payoff to the insurance industry which mandates all American buy private health insurance if the make over X amount of dollars in these artificial boundaries we've created with in the states which often time are ruled by only two or even one insurance coverage. This is corporatism 101, it's absolutely disgusting.

the ridiculous prices are being set by the insurance companies themselves. you're blaming the healthcare overstructure for what the insurance companies are doing.

Insurance should have a lot less place in our lives, basic medical care should be much cheaper to the point that it can be paid out of pocket and this is possible because we haven't always had this Leviathan of an insurance industry rather this is a newer development. Insurance should be for things like catostrophic or long term care, the things we all worry about. Regardless, I would hope you agree that Obamacare is a huge huge boon to this industry who I think are already gouging us. Is it it any wonder that people think the politicians are bought and paid for? I bet if you look at the boards of the healthcare companies and their lobbyists, you'll find a lot of former elected officials and a few future ones too. There is a lot of quid pro quo going on, a lot of corruption.

Some things i read on wp just throw me for a loop. Particularly some political assessments.

Granted, i think most all politicians are..politicians and whatever side they say they're on, it's almost all coated in or completely a pile of shoveled s**t now. However, politicians aside, there are some established definitions and concepts - the right being a direction more of principles of unfettered capitalism and the left toward socialism. So declarations i've read like the left is anti-civil rights, the left is anti-social security, or the left is hanging out patting their billionaire friends on the back and happily screwing the poor..

Wp seems to regularly contain concepts from a reality quite contrary to mine.

Micheal Bloomberg is a demcrat political he's also a billionaire and friends with most other democrats. He uses his billionaire money to push his ideas on others throughout the USA.

Demcrat politicians have cooperate backers just like republicans do. This is reality. Most politicians come out way way way richer then they went in and it's not from their 250k pay check.

Gun rights is a civil right. Left is anti gun so they anti civil rights. It's really simple.

The idea that some rich politician who attends rich events cares about some poor guy living on the street is absurd. They part of the Washington elite, they don't want to interact with the trash. To many of these people they've been a senator for 60 years. They'll so out of touch with the general population. They tell new senators they have to wait til they've been here for few terms before they can speak. Really didn't realize representation was a class system. Some of them it's a family job, they did it after their dad and their kid will do it after them. Want to change the system? Oh well they'd have to do it and I don't see them screwing them selves to make a better repersentive system :(

I'm other nations the whole country sets the price and tells companies this is how much you can charge for this. Here we let companies dictate super high prices and to screw people into death.

yah i agree. however I can't see the Gop doing anything meaningful(even trump with his bizzaro quasi-socialism). even hillary wants to continue with more of the same when what is really needed is singlepayer. that way the government can be the one bickering with the insurance companies, not joe random.

Why should the middle class fall on their sword to support us while being robbed by the rich.
Obama care doesn't effect Richie rich at all only lower middle class people, just above poverty.

System needs reworked. Never see democrats wanting to rework it to fix its problems. They have no interest in fixing Obama care, must cashing their insurance company brib checks every month.

No, Bernie Sanders and others want to introduce universal healthcare, seeing Obamacare as only a prelude to that.

Universal Healthcare means One World Order. Bye bye America. Are you for Universal Healthcare?

How do you figure that?

Your proffered policies are always pursued at the expense of others, you justify it by claiming it's for the greater good because you think you know what's best for everyone, despite being far from the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Since when? By raising taxes on those who can afford to pay, so those in need don't have to worry about going without food, shelter, and medicine?
What is really a case of pursuing policies at the expense of others is when you cut the social safety net in order to fund tax cuts for those who don't need them.
And I've never insulted your intelligence, so don't go insulting mine.

You think 'at the expense of others' doesn't count because you think they can afford it? That's not how this works, and those people are perfectly justified in voting their interests, which you find morally objectionable.

Purely your opinion, and we've long since established the non-value of that commodity.

Show some intelligence, and I won't insult it. Actually, I wasn't even insulting your intelligence, that would be more like talking down to you, I was just pointing out that you aren't the smartest guy in the room, which I doubt you'd disagree with, but you still think you know what's in other people's best interests, as opposed to people knowing their own interests. In other words, I wasn't calling you stupid, I was calling you arrogant. If I wanted to call you stupid, I'd just come out and say it.

even when people are being used by politicians to vote against their own interests? the economy would only strengthen if there was easy access to healthcare due to a more productive working class population.

Despite your belief in moral relativism, circumstance makes all the difference. Taxing those who can afford it for the sake of the needy can't compare to taxing those who can't for the sake of the wealthy.
And, yes you were insulting my intelligence. Saying I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed is not referencing my arrogance.
