I have never heard "whore" or any variation of it used in any non-pejorative way. Sometimes it is not used to literally mean a sex worker but a person who is willing to constantly humiliate oneself when dealing with other people. Yes there is double standard women who often have sex with others are whoring themselves while men who do the same thing are players. But all of this is deflecting the problem. A white woman not only disparaged a black women's character, added a racist slur and the black woman called out what she perceived to be a double standard of which I perceive exists also. I think if Ms. Cyrus called a well-known black progressive a nappy hoe while conservatives would try and deflect from what she was saying advertisers and employers would rushing to cancel her.

Men also call women whores just because they hate women and they referring to women having sex. But men have sex too and I never heard a name for them for those who have sex with women. But if a woman does it, she is a whore here and I am not talking about prostitution. Why is a woman w whore when she sleeps with a guy but a man is not when he sleep with a woman?

Well my women friends will call men 'manwhores' when they are frustrated with men. Doesn't it all even out?

Perhaps, but I guess I am arguing it should not be a negative term....like why does it matter if a person is a whore? lol aren't they providing a service?

Yeah I don't think it should be a negative term in most scenarios. I guess men perhaps have more of issues with women being sexually adventurous compared to women having that issue with men?

If a man was to say how he thought a woman would feel after somebody f**cked her brains out it would send a message that what he was imagining himself in the same position which would be creepy and rapey.

But that's just it though. Is there a way to break past that double standard, to where either women are more open to men saying to them as well, at a work Christmas party, or the opposite, where women do not say it to men because they see how they would think of it, if it was said to them?

Or is there not way to get past that double standard?

"Whore" is always negative.

If I was a female sex worker, I wouldn't want to be called a "whore." I'd want to be call a "sex worker," "escort," "massage therapist," things like that.....

What I really dislike is when people think it only applies to women, or use it for women. I've known some whores that are men (and did tmi on how many women they've had sexual intercourse with) yet some people would call virgins whores just to make themselves feel better about themselves.
Also, most people that are against freedom of speech are usually on some line of Authoritarian. Usually Authoritarian Commies, Nazis, or anybody with authoritarian tendencies.

A massage therapist isn't a sex worker, they've got a certificate.

Just changing of culture, where we treat men, women and enbies the same in terms of things like sexuality. It means as a culture that we stop shaming women for being sex positive, and we stop putting weird expectations on men to be sexually aggressive.

This sort of stuff does actually leak into things like censorship, like I believe there were some findings a while ago that showed movies tended to get a higher rating from the MPAA if sexuality was more around a woman than a man. That a scene implying a woman being eaten out would earn a higher rating than one implying a man was being blown. Which is to say that what method was giving movies rating could be seen as a sort of censorship from a more egalitarian view of sexuality between the genders.

I've been to plenty of christmas parties and there is generally a code in how you conduct yourself in front of your co-workers. But how that code is stretched depending on the industry. In the private sector when I was working in marketing some 30 years ago the sales-girls were very forward and with alcohol anything was acceptable and not above the fray. There was one incident I remember when I was drunk and a girl got really angry at something I said and we both had a brawl (no kidding) and our manager (who was also female) laughed and said break it up! Nobody cared.

I think that massager was mentioned because apparently secret brothels have set themselves up as massage parlors, because sex work being illegal and they were ways to explain why a place might have a bunch of pretty ladies. Massage therapist by itself is not sex work, but it has been used as a Euphemism for what might really be happening somewhere.

Most sex workers have some level of skill in massage in order to relax a "tense" client, Many qualified female massage therapists might move into the sex industry as the money is much better.

A “massage parlor” is a euphemism for a brothel.

There's a local massage joint near our local shopping centre offering "hot massage"....I guess one doesn't need to dip too far into one's imagination to infer what services are on offer.

Are brothels trying to masquerade as massage parlors illegal though?
