binary schminary, i know GD good and well why i distrust GOPers, their total disenfranchisement of working class people like me. that is sufficient. and it is ALL GOPers who behave like that in my experience. the few GOPers NOT like that were given the boot long ago. it is all trumpy's party now, a party of outright fascist thugs. when a majority of GOPers say that the recent election was fraudulent, when a majority of GOPers say that trumpy had nothing to do with the jan. 6 melee, when no GOPers say anything to counter the lies, that tells me the party is at heart hostile to reality and by extension to anybody outside of their tribe.

I had not heard of this guy until I read your post.  A few fact-checks showed me that while he was something of a rabble-rouser, his overall impact on the Left was easily exceeded by Ralphie May.

There are plenty of GOP members out there who are speaking out, but they are in a minority. I think that most prefer to avoid going on the record about anything.

One thing to remember about Trump is that he is not a Conservative at all. Rather, Trump is a Populist with no political convictions or principles -- he just says whatever he thinks people want him to say. He is nothing more than a second rate actor playing to his cult followers.

Trump's only allegiance, as we have seen time and time again during his four years of inflicting hell on the world is to himself. Note how quick he always is to turn on those who he feels slighted by even if he was crowing about how they were the best in the world. You are only useful to him as long as you praise him. And, of course, he always has someone else to blame for his many shortcomings.

Others might say 'Pragmatist'.
Not a political comment.
Simply an observation.

Yes. Trump is a pragmatist----but only for his own purposes.

He has a record of blatantly putting even staunch supporters of him "under the bus." It's as obvious as day.

I wish more people would listen to the phone call he made to the Georgia election official.

The phone call in full, or the excerpts as they were published in the media?

Here ya go - the phone call in full.

During an hour long phone call, President Trump pressured Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger to overturn the 2020 election results. Trump said, “I just want to find 11,780 votes".

It even has its own Wiki page:

This is blatant stuff....and it can't be refuted or claimed to be "taken out of context."

Exactly. There is, or there ought to be, absolutely no coming back from this.

It also goes to show that his call to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was just more of the same, despite his claiming it was a "perfect call" and that "the transcripts" (they're not transcripts and were never presented as such) show it was a "beautiful call".

That also has its own Wiki page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump%E2% ... ne_scandal

And an annotated reading of the call ("MEMORANDUM OF TELEPHONE CONVERSATION")
https://edition.cnn.com/interactive/201 ... annotated/

I wouldn't equate the Republican Party with Donald Trump.

I don't even think of Trump as being a Republican, actually....nor a conservative.

He's just an incompetent version of Putin. He's a Keystone Kop type of dictator.
