Oh okay. I guess I felt that the conflict between political parties in the US has gotten so bad that I thought it might lead to war, and saw it that way, but maybe I am just being pessemistic about it.

What does the 45 refer to in your *TRE45ON!!*?

Kind of sounds like "political view" is being used to cover up sh***y opinions shared publicly like conspiracy theories and other things. Could people say that anything is just their politics?

You had a premier who ruled Queensland for 30 years by the name of Joe Bjelke Peterson who claimed his ideas of sterilising aboriginal people or allowing them to die of HIV was part of his political beliefs. Plenty of Queenslanders shared his beliefs because they voted him back into office multiple times.

I never particularly liked Joe, but I never heard anything about this.

What a dick!
I never heard about that.

He wasn't my cup of tea.
Wasn't he also proven to be a criminal?
Talk about being a religious hypocrite. 8O

Do you think his dementia had anything/k to do with his feral position?

I couldn't care less since, I've never watched any of the Star Wars since the original trilogy years ago when I was still a kid. And it should have stayed at that trilogy.

Oh you mean Carano supporting Trump? Well I guess it's her right to, but I don't think she should be fired over it. I would never fire an employee over that, especially one that is bringing in many and has fans of the show.

We seem to be going in circles. She was fired for shooting her mouth off....not because she supported Trump

Oh okay I see. Well it seems that a lot of fans of the show are disappointed in her being firing so perhaps it was a bad idea to to do it so soon. I mean I shoot my mouth off online sometimes, but I never get fired for it, because the boss still wants good work...

You are one of the most benign people on this website. ;)

I haven't been following the saga closely, but it seems that PC is out of control.
Well, most know it is out of control.
I find it all very tedious. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

People whining about not being able to sprout racist and harmful conspiracy theory things is like when my ex used to whine about "not being able to be himself" because I didn't like it when he always joked around with me and I always felt disrespected because I felt he was not taking me seriously or my feelings and plus I would take him seriously and he would get upset.

Some people really want to be jerks and then whine they can't be their true selves lmao.

I wonder if anyone has ever whined about not being able to use profanity. "How dare you oppress me and not let me be myself."

I don't think it is clear cut that she was being racist, based on some of the things I read in this discussion thread.
I was under the impression she simply wasn't PC enough.

There *is* a problem with free expression, these days, imo.
People often misrepresent others, and sometimes maliciously so.

I believe “45” replaces “AS” in “treason.”

She shouldn’t have made the Nazi comparison.

That's true, I understand that. I just didn't think that her comparing how people are treated in modern day US to using how Jewish people were persecuted in the streets, was not hatred or bigotry. It was just a dramatic comparison, but I don't think it was hatred or bigotry, or that she was being a jerk. So I feel that she didn't go that far really to qualify for that.

I haven't done an in-depth study on this subject, but it seems some people have made a 'storm in a tea cup'.
Some people deliberately twist what people intended to convey.
It is a huge problem these days, particularly because of all the anonymous keyboard warriors having access to platforms/publishers such as twitter and facebook.

Disingenuousness noted. 8)

The left makes Nazi comparisons all the time.
Rather ironic, huh?

Oh yeah that is right, being intelligent is nor required for being an actress. You only need the ability to study and the ability to practice long hours and have the skill. That has nothing to do with intelligence.

People with a PHD or with other college degrees, I would just assume they are trolling because I find it hard to believe they would be that stupid.

I also notice celebrities no longer have that celeb privilege of saying anything they want without any consequences.

Most actors/celebrities embrace the 'progressive' side of politics.
Just an observation. ;)

Oh well I didn't think what she said was bigoted because she was merely using a comparison when talking about people being persecuted. Bigoted people, do not care about persecution, and can be pro-persecution, so a bigoted person would not talk about it because they do not care. She is anti-persecution in her remarks, so therefore not a bigot, or at least that's how it seems to me.

Good point.

But I don't understand how using a group of an example of persecution is considered bigotry though. Let's say you are talking about people being persecuted in the US, and you want to use a group of people who were persecuted in the past as an example. Which group of people could use as example without it coming off as bigotry? If not Jewish people, then who? African-Americans, Native Americans, Palestinians, Algerians, etc?

Which group of people are acceptable to use as an example when talking about persecution, without it being considered bigotry?

Because it's offensive to compare not being allowed to say hateful things to being Jewish who were persecuted for simply being Jewish.

I really don't see how this is confusing to understand.

Oh I didn't think she was saying hateful things about being Jewish, because she said that Jews were beaten in the streets, but she was condemning it. I didn't think it was hateful if she was condemning it.

Good point.

Hang on.
Progressives call trump supporters fascists, Nazis, and neo-nazis.
Why is *that* ok, KK?

I just feel like people are twisting her words when she describes certain events of persecution, and people seem to be filling it with other events of it, if that makes sense?

Even that doesn't work. Liberals/democrats haven't been physically beating anyone. She was simply repeating some QAnon post she read without thinking critically.
