Do you believe in God?
Trinity = Christian Trinity? Or the Hindu trimurti?
And what do you mean by subgod? Consort spirits apus?
trimurti, but any trinity is quite the same in healing.
Apus are the gods known to the Incas in the andes and are still worshipped today by the indigenous population. Apus are mountains, lakes, seas, the four elements, mother earth, father sky, etc.
Consorts are the wives of the Hindu gods

Evolution has nothing to do with a higher power, it just explains the diversity of life, where does that even enter the realm of answering that question? Also if you're an Atheist that does not mean you believe in Evolution or any form of science, the dictionary definition of Atheism is a disbelief in a higher power/deity/god and that's all. Most Atheists do believe those things but it has nothing to do with being an Atheist.
Where did I say all? In fact I speficially said for those that belive one excludes the other, no only athesits my dear friend, but those that believe in god. I tend to say only what I mean, and mean only what I say. Anything else was manufactored by your own mind and not my job to answear to.
But then.. why read mythology so literally.. in the first place.. ?
Odin.. Thor.. Eve.. the serpent goddess (mentioned in the creation myth).. are all obviously mythological characters.

The first few times I read though the bible.. I had exactly the same experience as Carl Jung did.. (who was also an atheist in his youth).. when he first tackled high alchemy..
At first.. the old atheist in me would say.. "This talk of God and miracles is nonsense".. and yet.. between the stories there was a lot of wisdom.. and it was this that drew me in..
Until.. gradually.. it dawned on me.. the writers of the bible were often talking in symbols.
So.. no.. there aren't any supernatural beings.. or miracles in the bible.. to disbelieve in....
That is just the Christian interpretation.

"Light on the nature of alchemy began to come to me only after I had read the text of the Golden Flower, the book of Chinese alchemy. I was stirred by the desire to become more closely acquainted with the alchemical texts.
Occasionally I would look at the pictures, and each time I would think, "Good Lord, what nonsense! This stuff is impossible to understand." But it persistently intrigued me, and I made up my mind to go into it more thoroughly. I soon found it provocative and exciting.
To be sure, the texts still seemed to me blatant nonsense, but here and there would be passages that seemed significant to me, and occasionally I even found a few sentences which I thought I could understand. Finally I realized that the alchemists were talking in symbols.
"Why this is fantastic," I thought. "I simply must learn to decipher all this." By now I was completely fascinated, and buried myself in the texts as often as I had the time."
Carl Jung.

I don't have interests..
Only obsessions.. that change.. from time to time.
Then there's repetitive behavior..
But I won't go into that now..
Aspi symptoms.. I believe.
I used to read Jung - obsessively - too..
His commentary on - Aurora Consurgens - left me in awe..:-0
Our Thomas knew the bible inside out..
And.. we both share the same point of view..
When it comes to reading scriptures...

"Understand you foolish ones, and mark the parable and the interpretation, the words of the wise and their mysterious sayings; for the wise have used diverse manners of speech in making comparison with everything that is upon the earth, and beneath the sphere of the moon they have multiplied parables in this science."
"For the wise have not spoken to the foolish, seeing that he that speaks with a fool speaks with one that is asleep. If I were to unriddle all things as they are, there would be no further place for prudence, for the fool would be made equal to the wise; nor would any mortal under the sphere of the moon bewail in stepmotherly poverty the pangs of hunger, for in this science the number of fools is infinite."

Is this prose or poetry? Whichever it is, I am intrigued.

I was just clarifying once again not specifically to you in that comment, that Evolution, Atheism, Cosmology etc are all separate.

When did I read it literately? Anyone in the modern age who actually would believe that those are real isn't the brightest person around, then again I'd say the same about the Christian/Jewish God.

Then what's the point of following the book? It doesn't apply very well in the 21st century, especially the part that told me if I raped a young woman I'd have to pay her family 50 shekels of silver then marry her and never divorce her, along with many of these other writings from the scripture. There's no reason you should be following that book, especially if you don't take certain parts of it literately which is the basic motivation for most Christians to be part of their religion.
You may take your ability to not think in sheer absolutes as a given, but it's probably the reason why you're one of the more well-spoken members of these boards.

From a seriously technical issue, we as a people (Aspies) have a general leaning towards being atheist compared to the general population (NT's) because of the crimes against Aspergia caused by these thugs and mayhem - namely bullies and latent sensory chaos that cause us so much problems in life - this and the fact that so many of the general population happen to be religious, leads us to equate religion with a set of THEM and atheism with US. In short form, our hardships lead to a general psychy of solidarity within what is largely emerging as a ethnic movement, if not nationalistic movement, and we equate the belief in disbelief as a formal way of solidifying that union, for many of us - though no one has officiated this, and you would alienate, judging from the polls, about half of all Aspies on this planet, if not more, figuring in locations with poor internet access that probably have close to 100% belief in a higher power.
Now, to my criticism of any criticism, one way or another, of someone's belief system, whether that be that "I don't believe in God" or that "I believe in God or a higher power."
Are we not attempting to form solidarity here. If you think that the abuse caused by the NT's was bad in the past century, when they did not know we were different, think about how it will be when we have everyone diagnosed, or when the diagnostic rate is going off the charts. We cannot afford to lose solidarity because each side wants a general crusade against the other on their own belief system, and I'm just generalizing it to the belief and believe nots - there's enough division in this area to tear us apart completely. Try, please try, to have an open mind for once, and to restrain yourselves in your speech, and to come together as a people, regardless of what another person believes or disbelieves. Keep in mind that most nations you reside in, the NT's live harmoniously together with dozens of religions, every person believing something different, and their system has not collapsed but has thrived because of it. In all systems in the past three centuries in which a nation forced religion or lack of religion onto their people at a massive scale, those nations do not survive in their current forms today. Only the pluralistic societies, with exceptions of brand new entities, exist to this day. Do not think that we are no different in how we would form groups - we are as human as the NT's, we require rules more stringent, yes, but we also require the flexibility to think, the ability to breathe. We cannot and will not be able to function if people post things like "you believe in crap" or far worse to another person, when we should be talking about our day, talking about the NTs who made a point to hurt us today, the NTs who are always on the offensive these days, even though you have a hard time telling, and be discussing what we really want to do as a people, how far we want to push this autism rights agenda, how much we want to push the envelop. Divisiveness is not a good thing at this stage - we need unity. We don't need to be a large group of one person, we need unity in our motives, and we don't need to want to be at each others throats all day or else we will never get to our unspoken but uniformly understood goals.
I hope you get all I am saying. It is a lot to digest in one sitting.
