To an extent, yes. For example, if you want to know what the transformers were called in the new film.. then you're probably on safe ground. Once things get a bit more complicated, its suitable only as a start point for proper research.. akin to reading a magazine article about the Crimean war in the front of a tv guide. Its hardly comprehensive, and probably biased.

That's why I didn't recommend Wikipedia for controversial subjects.

There's not much room for bias here and, as far as encyclopedia articles go, it's pretty comprehensive (they're rarely comprehensive in print anyway).

The world seems shocked - just shocked - that an internet encyclopedia is not the Truth straight from the lips of God...

Actually on controversy, I find wikipedia not infrequently a useful resource because it often is an expedient way to find criticisms and counter arguments because of the NPOV rules. A couple of clicks later and bam! you've got yourself a spicy refutation sandwich.

Of course it may give an improper weight to different viewpoints, but that's to be expected.

The fact that you would post indignant about being spoken to that way very much indicates that you DO have a big ego.

A surfeit of indignancy is the downfall of a man. When I was a bouncer people would shout the most obscene things about my mom. I understood them to be patiently untrue, and was unmoved by their epithets.

It worked on other bouncers though, and I never understood why they positioned their values so as to undermined by aggressive articulations.

Pride, vanity and egotism. If your opponents attack position is no more than an animalistic eructation you should not be overtly discomfited.

Put it this way: If I said your skin was blue, patiently untrue, you'd laugh it off; risible, not visible.

So if the claimants statement is not veritable, why are you so fermentable?

Given the length of the rant, I obviously hit a nerve. Someone repeatedly posting about how they're in touch with the Truth, that they are one of the select few whose minds are free of lies and propaganda, that only they and their buddies are intelligent enough to see the Truth (and not be distracted by things like facts and logic), even with the added melodrama that they're playing the good guys trying to enlighten humanity but despite their best efforts humanity is too stupid to perceive the Truth they alone can comprehend (with such superior minds that it only took a few youtube videos to enlighten them)... and it doesn't have anything to do with ego?

Shawn, dude, your not an egoist.... But.... But, if you let them drag you into this game then you become the very thing your against in the first place. Let them have their opinions, don't ridicule them. If you just state your opinion without saying anything that could be percieved as an insult, and then they come insulting you and ridiculing you, then they are showing their intolerance for freedom of opinion. But if you let them drag you into this game, which is all about pure ego, well then right or wrong you've still become just like everyone else.
I know from experience (and the only reason I'm posting this final message here on this forum is for the unlikely hope I can open someone's eyes by example), if you state your opinion, even without saying anything that can be taken as an insult, the people here will gang up on you and ridicule the high hell out of you, and they will push you into their little game. They will instigate it for you..... And if you take the bait, then your just like them. You've been lead into becoming the very thing you are against...
This is what I've been teaching myself too man. Just let them go bro, look for people who are looking for answers. You can't help people who are willfully and willingly ignorant. They'll drag the ego out of you. Look for people who want to find answers.

In this 1974 NASA Flight Research Center photograph, a Boeing B-747 jetliner is shown taking part in the trailing wake vortex study. In the photograph, the two wing tip vortex trails, being the strongest, stay in tight cylindrical rolls. The "strength" of the vortices decreases toward the midspan of each wing, and the trails become less defined.

Description: In 1974 the NASA Flight Research Center (later Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards, California) used a Boeing 747 as part of the overall NASA study of trailing vortices. Trailing vortices are the invisible flow of spiraling air that trails from the wings of large aircraft and can "upset" smaller aircraft flying behind them. The 747 that NASA used was on loan from the Johnson Space Center where it was part of the Space Shuttle Program.

That doesn't describe one bit what took place in the video I gave. You're wrong, there is an Agenda 21.
