Of what real value is evolutionary "knowledge"?
fun of their belief in God, and their disbelief that man evolved from lower species and even dead matter.
There is little in this world that is more worthy of doubt than that man came from dead matter,
and yet students are not allowed to doubt this. And if they do doubt it, they are required to
pretend that they don't -- which means they are required to lie.
So, that's the modern science classroom for you: "Doubters of abiogenesis, and believers in God
creating us: either recant or you fail!"
My Biology teacher is a Christian, you stud. You think he was "singling out Christians and making fun of their belief in God?"
No, I don't. I think he is one of the obvious exceptions to my general statement.
I'm pretty sure all of the biology teachers at my high school are Christian. And it's a public school, too. College biology professors I've met are also Christian, so knock this nonsense off. You are projecting.
Telling two more lies won't help.
I've listened to people challenge my bio teacher on evolution multiple times. He patiently attempts to explain the evidence to them, but when it becomes obvious that they aren't interested in such a discussion, he shrugs it off and moves on. No one's grade has ever been adversely affected by these statements. If you can pass the tests, and you can do the lab work, you'll pass the class. That's how science classes work. It's only really in the humanities and liberal arts where you can get a lower grade for disagreeing with the teacher.

Have you EVER heard of that? If you haven't, then you neither read nor watch the news.
At this point, this is just willful blindness of your part, I have to believe.
people go to college because they want to be there... they enroll in classes they want to take.
if you don't want a full education... don't go to a liberal arts school... and if you do go to a liberal arts school, you can take alternatives to intro bio courses... you can take intro geo, physics, chemistry,astronamy... whatever... they just wanna make sure you get a term or two of SOME science....
and if you're a bio major... you had better get to know your enemy...
Hmm, I'm more in favor of teachers being reprimanded for teaching students known falsehoods,
such as that "Man came from apes" is a fact, which hasn't been proven, or even roughly shown.
But hey, that's just me.
Whereas you're for "getting to know your enemy", rather than realizing that the enemy can be corrected and/or removed
to be replaced with a teacher who teaches facts as facts and opinions as opinions.
Where do you get the idea that numbskull teachers deserve to be tolerated,
while their students learn crap from them?
cause i have a more stringent definition of crap.

they must be in the same support group as all these scientists who are living a lie just to keep their jobs.
bet they'll see each other in hell long before any atheists. (this is based off my own beliefs)

Look, when the teacher says, "As we all know, man evolved from apes," how is that a proven statement?
1. Fossils
Bad argument. Very bad. No complete fossils show a creature between ape and human.
And the very few partial fossils -- and they are very partial (like a single tooth) --
that we have are always lone. Never do we find 2, 10, 100, like we should for any actual
species that would have existed to bridge the gap between apes and humans.
Therefore, those lone, partial fossils are most likely stand-alone genetic anomolies
from another static species, either still in existance or extinct.
That "99%" DNA figure that scientists previously stated we had in common with chimps
has recently been revised to "90%", due to a previous mistake that scientists had made
in coming up with the original figure.
It was in a news article a few months ago which you probably saw.
Read what I wrote. I didn't say teachers are forced to lie (although that's true as well, in some cases),
I said that teachers force students to lie, by making them state facts they don't believe in as if they do --
facts which contradict their religions.
And this absolutely happens all over the country every day.
I've said it ten times -- because people keep somehow missing what I'm saying and asking for repeats --
and I'm going to say it every day on this forum, every time I'm asked, until readers get it.
I won't give up on you!

Yet, if you refute it, either by raising your hand or writing that you reject that notion as fact,
you will be "corrected". That is to say, the teacher will tell you that you are incorrect,
thus covering up her initial lie with another lie.
if i asked a similar question in church... you'd point me to the bible...
i keep telling you to go out there and read science literature... you don't seemed too informed in this area... so if you like, i can give you some links to free online science journals.

You're all over the map, on unrelated stuff. You refuse to acknoledge what I wrote. You just don't want to see that
teachers are making students lie by making them assent, over and over again in the course of a class,
to the notion that man came from apes. You just won't admit this is what's going on in the classroom.

Maybe that's how things work in your particular school, but I'm sure that somewhere along
the way of filling out the tests, you're going to have to say or directly imply that man came
from apes, or that abiogenesis occurred -- two claims which NO ONE CAN POSSIBLY KNOW.
It's just its own little religion, plain and simple. Say the incantations even though you may not believe them,
or you're out.

1) you first statement is result of a misconception... there is no IN BETWEEN... evolution isn't that simplistically linear... there were several species evolving at the same time and many of them looked similar and had similar niches (it's reciprocal with how they look in a way... form=function)... these species compete and some die.... and mutations make very minute changes that take a long time to show changes... so you're never gonna get the play by play in the fossil record... which is why we use molecular biology from many angles to find agreements on lineages.
2) that's just utter crap... give me your article citing. we're ~98% chimps and somehtin like 95-96% to mice proven by MANY studies both current and old... and so what? are you gonna accept the 90% or are you merely using this as a ploy to show inconsistency?

it's not unrelated...
you'll never understand it cause you don't try. you're like an atheist standing before god begging not to go to hell... but have never read the bible, despite knowing of it's existence.
you say it's not fact... i disagree... but i also disagree with how you say it's being taught.... maybe in degree vs kind... but still.
oh well.

It isn't an ad-hom attack when it's obvious to everyone that your perception of reality is distorted.

3. Unusual perceptual experiences, including bodily illusions
4. Odd thinking and speech (e.g., vague, circumstantial, metaphorical, overelaborate, or stereotyped)
5. Suspiciousness or paranoid ideation
6. Inappropriate or constricted affect
7. Behavior or appearance that is odd, eccentric, or peculiar
8. Lack of close friends or confidants other than first-degree relatives
9. Social anxiety that tends to be associated with paranoid fears rather than negative judgments about self

I have recently decided what Ragtime's species is. It is a small subspecies of man, Homo Sapiens Coprocephalus.
This subspecies is fast coming extinct, and unless action is taken now, we will lose biodiversity. While their exterior appearance is the same as Homo Sapiens Sapiens, their brains are susceptible more than usual to virulent memes, which cause extraordinary sclerosis of the prefrontal lobes and the amygdala, as well as perverting the function of the nucleus accumbens to unusual reward pathways.
We need to find a preserve, somewhere that these specimens can roam freely without harming anyone else....
I'd suggest the Australian Outback, but it may be too hot for them, even though their brains seem to be used mostly for cooling blood.

First, you can't even keep your terminology straight. Biogenesis, "life from life," is the normal mode of reproduction (indeed the only observed one) for all living things. If you don't know that biogenesis occurred, you must doubt your own birth. And my class didn't really delve much into human evolution, because that subject is harder to settle than other matters within evolutionary biology. Contrary to your paranoid ravings, we do NOT teach unconfirmed things as fact. There was a brief interlude into some of the current ideas about human origins, but even our textbook (which is standard all over the country) made clear that the specifics they mentioned about human evolution are tentative because there isn't as much fossil evidence for Homo Sapiens as they would like to base their ideas off of. I don't recall human evolution ever being on a test.
Frankly, I think many of us here have been in the classroom more recently than yourself, so we can say with more certainty how the material is being presented.
