The stupidest thing you've heard about religion/politics?

religion: cheap or even deliberately myopic caricatures of the opposing camp, whenever they happen and as often as they happen.

politics: happens too spectacularly and too often to even pick one. Reduction ad absurdium makes me sick to my stomach here as well as its an attempt of ego and groupthink to overpower and abduct reason, makes our world a much worse place IMO when its the common vernacular.

I work hard at not judging people, but I err in being human, and it usually ends up being more intent than substance. I had no opinion until I saw those Dan Quayle quotes.

Everything I've heard about religion and politics is stupid because religion and politics are both stupid.

I am in an IRC channel of a political party, I was there before the elections… let's just say that I am still extremely annoyed about the misconceptions lots of visitors had about the voting system. Yes, it is not as easy in Germany as it is in other countries (instead of "one person, one vote", we have "one person, two votes: one for the candidate in the district, one for the list"). No, this does not explain that you have not the foggiest idea which is which since it was covered in politics class in great detail.

Alas, I submit: "What is more important? The primary or the secondary vote?"
