If I were the only person who had ever described this relationship, this Love, then yeah, you might call it delusional. But I'm not. There is a long and rich history of people, of all different religions, traditions, nationalities and eras, who have known and loved God and known His love. Then again, if you'd never been loved (by a human being), or if your one true love betrayed you, or if the people who were supposed to love you and even claimed to love you (i.e. your parents) actually hated and abused or neglected you, you might think that love is just an illusion, not understand what other people get so excited about. That doesn't mean that love is not real. You just wouldn't have experienced it. I've experienced God's love. You can believe that or not, as you wish. Your skepticism does not make my experience of God's love or my relationship with Him any less real, any less wonderful, any less satisfying to me. He is my all in all, He is incomparable, no other motivation could ever compete with the motivation to live in harmony and close relationship with my God. Once having tasted it I am forever hooked. I am sorry that everyone doesn't know that relationship, just as I am sorry that not everyone knows human love. But the fact that others don't have it does nothing to weaken it for me.

Enough. We have totally hijacked the OP's thread. I can no more convey to you the delight of God's love than your 6th-grade sex ed class could convey the subjective experience of an orgasm. You either have it or you don't. You're either interested in experiencing it or you're not.

Sand - regina never mentioned anything about not conceiving of God.
This refusal to notice the messages sent to you by a fellow human being might represent the same refusal to notice signs of something supermundane. Just saying - perhaps.

Democratic evaluation and personal delusion is never the basis for rational comprehension. Look at the status of the world and see what most people believe and see the tragic results.
