Also, how can you be sure that you experienced the polar opposite of other people. The fact that so many people use these drugs, despite the fact that they are illegal, shows that some people must be getting some benefit from the effects.

I think its a continuum - I think a lot of people as well as my friends were kinda like me, gained life perspective at least to a point. Still, that's acid and E - we aren't talking heroin, meth, crack, and the kind of stuff that gets people bent in the head. The other part, if even 20% of the public would jump off a building thinking they could fly if they tried something or do something similarly naive - it can't be legal. If 20% of the public would take more pills to the face than they should and not drink enough water and generally just not take care of themselves (so many people still talk about ecstacy like its Viagra that its sadeningly obvious that they don't have a lot of respect for the substance or the high itself or their braincells for that matter), thus causing the E brain damage supposedly. Being lots of people are just lax and don't give a damn therein lies the problem and why if it were legalized, like LSD or any hallucinogen, it would have to be a psychotherapy only type thing at the discretion and under supervision of a doctor, psychologist, or someone of that nature.

I'm not convinced that taking acid or other entheogens/psychedelics in the presence of a shrink would be a good idea.
Given the psychoactive nature of these chemicals, I don't know that feeling 'under the microscope', so to speak, would be conducive to a good trip. Knowing that your doctor's sitting right there, notating and interpreting every little giggle, every little half-verbalised thought... I dunno, man, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have a good trip under those conditions.

Well, I'm talking about the legal use of it. For sure if a therapist was going to administer it they'd need to have themselves together and not act like d----bags. The whole idea is they'd be trying to talk either you through certain imagery or in the case of marital problems you and your partner? Things like that though, ie. if they're there the whole idea is they're an integral part of the experience so they need to do something a but more productive than "Hahhaha, lightweight...".

Yeah, I doubt I'd be real tempted to trip in front of a shrink - then again you wouldn't trip for the sake of tripping around them, you'd trip for cognitive therapy. The whole idea would be that if people had possession of LSD they probably got it in pharmaceutical grade, it would be safer than what's floating around when its made by old hippies, and the odds are the scheduling of it would be a lot more lenient.
