You should research CIA and cocaine. On this note George HW Bush, was head of the CIA for during this time.To help fund counter communist revolutionary groups (which in their own right went to do some very sick things), the CIA helped smuggle drugs into their the United States, also Cheap cocaine was the staple drug of party goers (see Blow, Boogie nights, Wonderland, Double Impact). This was to replace Opiates from Asia when it was obvious that the Communists were winning (the 60s-70s, Golden Triangle and the "democratic Chinese, Koumintang, 16K was founded by Koumingtang officers to help restore Chang Kai Shek) with Kung Sa a revolutionary warlord fighting in Burma (See Rambo 4, Air America). Like these greedy bastards wanted power and "freedom" (yea being a slave to drugs is freedom) for their people. Turning my people into zombies. With Asian gangs in Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver who operated with impunity in the 80s. But alot of us went to school, (well I didn't because I have Aspergers and am Dyslexic. Now look a the mess we're in. Deadmonton (Stabminton), Calgary (well not so much because there are like 3 giant homeless shelters within walking distance), Vancouver, Defiantly Toronto, Winnipeg (car Jack Capital). If the RCMP wants to know how to stop drugs? Tell the Afgani government to STOP their farmers from growing dope. Stop the Right winged AND left winged paramilitaries from smuggling dope to fund their war. Promote power sharing or "peace talks". Or better still, help those governments from stop being blood thirsty war zones. It worked in Brazil and Chili, and Argentina. Or better yet, stop screwing over their our own people Canadian government, or US government. So that people will be less inclined to escape with drugs!

Our police officers are dying, the young who are trapped in this trade for a quick buck selling "X", and the victims who are trapped by this vice, and the people who geniunely need tax dollars ie THE AUTISTIC for instance are all suffering. Because the government permitted this uneasy marriage with the devil. Now these gangs especially the Chinese Triad ones that have entrenched themselves in Western Canada (less now), were ENCOURAGED by government sponsored drug smuggling. (again watch the movies mentioned, above, and research).

In closing, Winners don't use drugs. (this was a message on 80-90s arcade games, this was before the advent of Xboxes and Playstations, and World of Warcraft, when kids used to play on these gum and sticky controls that didn't work). Now my above related rant with the Koumintang (the Tongmenhui Koumintang) were revolutionaries who fought against the Qing Dynasty, in a Han inspired revolution, approved by the "free world", and Chinese community abroad (very similar circumstances with the Zionist, and Tamil Ellam), The KMT won, and tried to rebuilt a diseased infected (very 3rd world conditions) and to this day has finally made SOME progress (medical, literacy, infant mortality, starvation). The Japanese invaded during these circumstances, as the communists rebelled. (There are accounts of horrific brutalities inflicted on the Chinese people during these times they can be compared with typical periods of suffering that follows any conflict, starvation, infrastructure rebuilding, political instablility), as is the troubles in Iraq and Afganistan, or Kosovo etc.

But the KMT orginally made up of bandit revolutionaries (again see Afganistan warlords), eventually continued their bandit drug-gang ways, and like any revolutionary movement found great drug money to be a great resource. So like the Galactic Republic of Star Wars, run by mercinaries, a weak government, that condoned sex slavery, drug dealers like the Hutts, Boba Fett nutjobs, and "Death Sticks" (and if you read the comics), that galaxy was messed up. very very messed up. now fast forward to today, when people say that the Chinese communists suck and are blood thirsty crazies. What's the alternative? The KMT? (a government of drug dealing Hutts that back stabbed their own chlidren with premitting drugs to fight communism? That floods the world with cheap smack that ends up in American's needles, and eventually ME a Chinese Canadian, has to help counsil in the homeless shelters?

You haven't seen dispare until you look into the blood shot eyes of a person. dried up skin, dried up hair, making up stories of why they need a certain resource (usually clothes at the shelter so they can pawn it for another fix, or underwear so they dont' have to spend so much to wash them and have money for liquor). If you're going this route, you'd have to include Clinton's involvement in the drug trade during his time as governor of Arkansas. He played a key role in protecting people involved in the Mena, AK drug drops. Which, also, connects him to the CIA. Then Bush Jr (no need to explain his connections to the CIA). Then Obama worked for Business International Corporation, which is a company that frequently acts as a front for the CIA.

Going by this, the CIA has held control over the executive office in some capacity for the past 30 or so years.

Neverless, Edmonton is an ok place to live, especially the suburbia. It's only the people involve in the druggie lifestyle that are offing themselves. It's such a terrible shame because you're so young. You have your whole life. When I get my degree in Social Work. I wouldn't actually not mind living up there again. It has a great University, and I'm sure that the situation improved. But yea it's an industrial-farming city, lots of ruffians and lots of bikers.
