So Warren Buffett is evil? Keeping in mind he's giving 99% of his fortune to charity, what makes him so evil then? And why does race matter - are you saying a rich capitalist black person would somehow be less evil? :?

i got carried away with my anti white racism. I am reading a book by Chomsky which has a quote along the lines of "those at the bottom of a society are usually the ones who see it most clearly". That is what I was trying to get at.

That's an interesting quote, but I would argue those at the bottom sometimes have built up frustration and that clouds their judgement just as much as the top position distorts.

Its good that you're reading, I'm not sure that Chomsky and clarity fit well in the same sentence though. If you want something more centrist or center-left you might want to check into John Ralston Saul, he's had some amazing insights, several per chapter, and I still need to reread Voltaire's Bastards just to see how much I didn't absorb the first time.

Actually, being a "maligned minority" is such a desirable thing in this era that people seek whichever way they can call themselves one. Having Asperger's is one way of saying that a person is in a minority, assuming it is still 1:150 ratio, and employers frequently discriminate against us poor Aspies. It is even in formal policy of the US Army that it is a disqualifying criteria, as per this response to a letter I wrote:

Quote:
Ben,

Thank you for your interest in the United States Army.

Asperger's syndrome is a condition that disqualifies you from enlisting
in the US Army or Army Reserve.

If you require any further assistance or have any more questions please
feel free to email me.

Respectfully,
...

But ADHD is also, although that is far more common than Asperger's and just requires a note from a teacher or parent or psychologist which says that you don't seem to have it anymore.

So true........

So many people can now be classified in some way as a minority and get some sort of recognized status as such and accrue benefits, a special status, and/or exemptions....., while what many people around these parts perceive as an oppressive majority is actually more of a minority when you begin the subtractions. I'm not so sure that the rights of this "new minority" are going to be respected though.

Couldn't care less! Although I can see how it might offend some people.

Why in the world would I ever want to be a minority with how they're treated. I normally hide any info about AS from anyone around me. As it is, there's been a few other places where I've seen people write wholly disparaging remarks about AS and the people who claim to have it. No way in hell do I admit to it. That's just asking for more trouble than I already have.

I'm white - well, actually, I may possibly have a hint of Jewishness or Mexicanness in me, but I'm mostly white. Having said that, I belong to several minority groups, in that I'm autistic, I'm gay, and I'm non-religious.

I have some family members who are not white. My cousin, who is my age, is biracial (his mother is white and his father is black). Also, one of my uncles is currently married to a Filipino woman and he's already had two kids with her.

Maybe somebody, some day, decided that this forum must display the mirror-image effect, so they got a sock-account and post such absurd crap to counterbalance your own ideological absurdity.

And why are neo-Fascists so unable to differentiate the very soft leftism of left-liberalism from even small-m marxism?
